I silently walked up to the guest room, and I slowly peeked to check on how they were doing.

As my right eye got a clear vision of the room, I saw the image repeating itself one more time...

I saw Mythra, watching over the unconscious body of my dearest friend, Kevin, surrounded by this gloomy air.

Some time had passed since that incident... And since day one, she had been stuck in the room, protecting the one who we cared the most.

Mythra had been nursing and taking care of Kevin for this whole time. Despite how much time has passed... She never showed a sign of giving up hope.

However... It hurt me everytime I came to check this specific room in my house. Watching my friend in a comma, not being able to laugh, speak, express emotions, say any word or even move... It was truly a nightmare.

I was excited the moment I received news of Kevin coming here... But all that hope and joy immediately vanished as I was told that the visit wasn't going to be as friendly as I imagined. When I asked more details about the situation, they told me what happened in Tantal... and my heart sank the moment I got informed that he 'died'. I couldn't believe it at all, I kept denying over and over while sobbing.
I couldn't describe with words how devastated my heart was.

They asked me if it was okay for me to shelter him for the time being while he healed; apparently, I was the only known close friend of him, and that could why they reached out to me.
I didn't hesitate at all and I just answered yes, and the sooner they brought him over, the better. However, they simply told me to pay attention at night, because someone was incoming to take care of him.

It didn't take long for them to bring him to my house; night fell really fast. My mom and I were super anxious and worried - simply, the time flew fast.
They brought him over the late night as promised. I speculated they did that to avoid a commotion and gospels from people. I thought it was the best decision.

I prepared the guest room in anticipation. Once they were done, I was told that 'she' was coming soon and that she would take responsibility for watching over and taking care of him
I didn't mind at all given I didn't know what to do in these situations.
However, my curiosity got ignited when I heard the word 'she'.

When they left him in the room, I took a moment to check on him. He had a neutral facial expression, but his body was motionless. I simply couldn't believe that my best friend met death itself while fighting in a far away land.

My hands were shaking abruptly, showing my nervousness and disbelief about the situation.

I called him once... He didn't respond.

I called him twice... Just silence.

I called him a third time but louder... And his body didn't react at all.

My anxiety worsened.

I kept repeating his name, but I got no responses; only his soft breathing interrupting the silence engulfing the room was the only noise I could hear at all.

I froze in my place, perplexed about the situation. My mom quickly came closer to me and hugged me to give me some comfort.

I couldn't believe it, the one who looked after me unconditionally and who I cared the most was in front of my eyes, heavily injured, trying his best to hold onto the thin thread of his life.

I began to cry as I realized I almost lost the dearest and the most special person to me. I cried rivers of tears and my sobbing intensified as the seconds accumulated.
