Third Person POV

"Are the rumors spreading true?"

Kenma spoke while sitting in his office, the building around fifty stories.

"Yes, sir." Secretary Himari responded while you stood beside her in front of Kenma's desk, you were fiddling with your fingers as anxiety overcome you.

"Since when did you resign?"

"Just last week, sir." Himari mumbled while bowing her head.

Kenma only looked at her and nodded his head while his fingers intertwined, placed under his chin. He took a deep breath and continued.

"So you're telling me, Y/n is replacing you?" He added as he moved his attention at you, his words made you feel a bit offended as if he was underestimating you.

Secretary Himari and you nodded, he raised his brows and chuckled in a low tone.

"I'll give one week to consider. Perhaps I've known you Secretary Himari for almost five years, and I never expected you to make such decisions like this." Kenma chortled as you became uncomfortable and knitted your brows.

"It is not my choice to take her place at all, but if it is for the benefit of the company and Ms. Himari, I will gladly accept." You snapped, Himari widened her eyes as Kenma immediately looked at you.  You can't deny that his eyes were like daggers piercing your soul.

Kenma paused for a moment, he nodded and his smirk remained. "Secretary Himari, you'll be taking your leave next week, right?"

Himari nodded in response.

"Then in those two weeks, I want a resignation later, and train Ms. L/n." Kenma ordered as he leaned back in his chair, crossing his legs.

"And for Ms. L/n, I'd like another resume letter, this time with a word count of 1,000 to 5,000 words, detailing how you'll be working as my secretary for the next few years. I want every single report and card from your former school and workplace." Kenma sternly said, you nodded, hiding your nervousness, facing your new big responsibility.

"Secretary Himari, please leave the office, I want to have a talk with Ms. L/n, alone."

Himari looked at you as you smiled at her saying you'll be fine, she then made her way out.

A moment of silence as the intimidation built in the room.

Kenma coughed as he caught your attention. "Tell me, are you committed to taking her position? L/n, this is a huge one. Make sure you don't come to regret your decision because I don't want to hear you whining and slacking on those days, so tell me right now, is your decision final?"

"Yes! I am committed and I will take her position, as a loyal employee of this company, I am willing to take any tasks and obstacles." You forced yourself to speak because you didn't want to miss out on this opportunity, despite your anxiety. You weren't sure if you consented because you were genuinely determined or because the man in front of you was pressuring and intimidating you.

"Let me tell you," Kenma stood up in his chair as he walked towards you. "I am a very strict man when it comes to business, and that includes the workers, the individuals that I work with, and that includes you."

"I believe I told you before that I want augmentation in my business, hm?" Kenma walked around you as you keep your head low, not wanting to move a single muscle. "Also means that I want fortune in my employees, especially the closest that I'm in, in short, my secretary." You can hear his voice behind, his arms were crossed.

"Himari worked for more than three years, and you are replacing her," Kenma continued walking around you as he sat back on his chair, leaning. "Which means, that I now have higher expectations on my next secretary, and that's you."

You gulped as you nodded, still fighting with your anxiety as it only grew more.

"I have high expectations in you. Better make sure to not disappoint me." Kenma told in a low voice as he fixed his posture in his chair.

"I'm a man of my word."

As you exited Kenma's office, you exhaled a sigh of relief and you noticed Himari standing just outside the door, waiting for you.

"Oh my gosh! I almost passed out, I felt like suffocating in there! I can't even breathe in his office, let alone move a single muscle!" You whined as you playfully fall on Himari's arm while she caught you and only giggled.

"You'll get used to it, I promise, Mr. Kozume is really like that at first, but he has a soft spot for everyone." Himari said, you looked up to her as you were still hugging. You paused for a moment as you felt a little jealous, thinking that Himari and Kenma were close throughout the years when you weren't there with him.

"We'll start with your training tomorrow, okay?" You nodded as you got a bit excited, not with being a secretary to Kenma ofcourse, but to try out new things, even if it's a huge and important one.

"Secretary Himari, why are you resigning by the way? Is it really that important? the company would sure miss you."

"It's... it's complicated." Himari mumbled. You only nodded, thinking that maybe it's a personal matter.

"You know...Sir Kozume would sure miss you when you will leave the company," You let out as you painfully smile. "He would miss you that maybe he'll mistakenly call me Secretary Himari instead of Secretary L/n." You jokingly said as you let a laugh.

"He...he doesn't, he won't miss me," Himari scoffed. "Just give Kozume some time Y/n, I'm sure there's someone for him. Please be patient with him, he gets angry easily, most of the time he would raise his voice, but please understand him Y/n." Himari hugged you tighter while you could only nod and your eyes are still widened.

"Promise me, okay?" Himari promised as you furrowed your brows.

You hesitantly answered as you remembered hating the word promise.

"P-promise..."
