"Where's my ravioli?"
Hailey laughed as she pushed a pizza slice into her mouth the next day at lunch, "I took it home yesterday."
Zach pouted whilst folding his arms childishly, "But it was mine. You brought it for me."
"I know and I'm sorry. I had no choice but to take it home after I left work. Mr. Snider had bought me lunch." She replied with a casual shrug.
He cocked a brow, leaning towards her slightly, "What was that about? I know you said he only asked you some questions but Mr. Snider doesn't just invite his employees to lunch. I know that you know he's quite...reserved."
"I was wondering also why he invited me to lunch. I figured it's because we didn't have much to do yesterday and maybe he just wanted some company." She responded, finishing her last slice of pizza.
"Hmm..." Zach hummed with narrowed eyes.
"What?"
"People are talking." He whispered.
She quickly glanced around with furrowed brows before turning back to him, "About what?"
"I've heard a few persons saying they saw you and Mr. Snider leaving together and having lunch."
She hissed and rolled her eyes, "What's wrong with having lunch with my boss?"
"To you, it was just an innocent lunch with your bored boss, but, to them, it was a date."
Her blue eyes widened in horror, "A date with my boss? Are you crazy? Zach, he is my boss and he's married! I'm sure he's not interested in me."
He shrugged, "Just telling you what I've heard. I know you're a smart girl, Hail and I know it was just an innocent lunch."
"Thank you." She sighed, rubbing her forehead in worry.
She did not want people to think she was dating her boss. That would be so wrong on many levels. Dating her married boss would go beyond her morals.
"Any way, let's get back inside. The hour is almost over." Zach informed her, glancing at his wrist watch.
"Yeah." She mumbled, getting up from the bench.

Hailey loved to go grocery shopping on Fridays after work so that she'd be home all day on the weekends.
After work, she took a cab to her favourite supermarket and proceeded to purchase some groceries and cat food.
Reaching up on her tip-toes, she tried to grab her favourite box of cereal: Frosted flakes.
"Mmm..." She groaned in frustration, mentally blaming her short height for not being able to reach a stupid box of cereal.
"Let me help you with that." An amused voice spoke.
Turning to her savior, a polite smile etched across her glossy lips, "Oh, hello, Mr. Snider. Fancy seeing you here."
He chuckled, effortlessly grabbing the cereal, "I don't usually shop here. My favourite supermarket closed an hour ago."
"Oh," She stated, nodding in understanding.
"Here you go." He said, placing the cereal in her shopping cart.
"Thank you, sir."
He frowned playfully at her, "Please call me-"
"Romeo," She giggled, "Sorry."
Her soft giggles made his gaze drop to her luring lips. Oh, how her lips looked so soft and attractive. If only he could-
"Is that Lays? Cheddar Cheese?" She beamed, with wide, joyful eyes as she stared at the bag of Lays in his shopping cart.
He chuckled in amusement, "Yeah. You like?"
"Love!" She chirped with a broad, toothy smile.
"Hmm, how about I get one for you?" He offered.
"Sure."
After getting two packs of Lays potato chips, they both headed to the cashier where he paid for the chips.
"I can get the other stuffs for you too," He offered, gesturing at her shopping cart.
With a wave of her hand, she declined his generous offer with a kind smile, "No, thank you. You've already paid for my favourite snack."
Romeo looked at her in admiration. Many women would've accepted his offer within a heartbeat, but she was independent. Perhaps, prideful. But he liked it.
"At least let me give you a ride home," He pleaded, with a hopeful smile.
Something about her made him want to spend a little more time around her. He could tell something was different about her. She wasn't like a lot of women he knew.
"I always take a cab home," She laughed.
"How about this once -"
"I'm fine, really. Thank you, though," She replied with a smile.
He stared at her with a little smile. She rejected his kindness and for some reason, it didn't bother him. What was it about this girl?
"Alright, no problem. I've gotta get going now. It was nice seeing you." He said, grabbing his shopping bags from the silent cashier.
"You too, si-Romeo." She chuckled.
"I caught that," He laughed, with playful, narrowed eyes, "Anyway, have a great evening."
She smiled at his back as he turned and walked away. Her eyes trailed downwards taking in his full grey suit that fitted him perfectly. He was muscular and lean and gorgeous.
He walked almost like a male model. With a dazed smile, she bit her lip, her eyes glued to his ass. He had a nice as-
"Here are your bags, miss. Thanks for shopping with us," The cashier finally spoke with a fake, but professional smile.
"Oh, thank you," Hailey replied, taking the bags.
She inhaled a deep breath as she stepped out into the cool, November air. Subconsciously, she glanced around to see if Romeo had left but she hadn't a glimpse of him or his car.
A small smile made it's way onto her lips again. There was just something about him...
