It had been a week. And still no word from Romeo Snider. Her heart was aching with worry. Her head was hurting tremendously. Something was wrong. She knew it.
She had to try to keep focused at work and continue with her job. She plastered a fake smile on her face and walked around as if she didn't mind that her boss was missing.
She wondered continously if she should file a missing person's report or simply just visit his home. She finally chose the latter after much debate with her mind. If his wife is there, she'd just pretend to be a concerned friend. And she'd go now.
Hailey gathered her things and left her office. On her way out, she smiled politely as she walked by her coworkers.
But, then her steps halted as her eyes met a pair of hazel ones walking towards her. Her eyes were wide with joy and surprise. Her heart skipped a beat as his tired eyes stared at her.
He was dressed nicely as always, in a full black suit and a yellow shirt.
His eyes were dull and tired and his face were full of worry lines.
He cracked a smile at her as he walked by, purposefully brushing his shoulder against hers gently, "Meet me in my office in five minutes."
Her heart fell as a small smile found it's way onto her lips which she fought hard to bite back.
Looking up, she found majority of her coworkers eyes on her, and some were even whispering to each other. Shit. She didn't want to turn around and return to her office, that would make her look suspicious. So, she resumed walking and went into the bathroom. Leaning over the sink, she stared at her reflection in the mirror as she tried to catch her breath.
"Okay, he's alive, he's alive, he's alive," She mumbled to herself releasing a breath of relief.
Her heart no longer felt heavy with worry. She was relived but also curious. He didn't look himself. He seemed tired and unhappy. And, she still needed to know why he disappeared for a week.
She left the bathroom for his office, locking the door behind her.
He was standing before the glass wall, looking down at the city below, when he heard the door open.
Through everything that he had been through this past week, he felt relieved seeing her.
He turned around to meet her happy eyes and he smiled, "Oh, how I've missed you,"
They walked towards each other and he pulled her into him, enclosing her in his arms. He sighed as he took in her honey scent.
She closed her eyes as she rested her head on his chest, "What happened?"
"You wouldn't believe it if I told you."
She looked up at him, into his soft eyes, "I was so worried about you,"
He ran his thumb over her cheek, smiling fondly, "Yeah?"
"Yeah, tell me everything,"
His eyes grew dark and cold instantly and he looked away. He clenched his jaw before responding in a flat tone, "I was robbed,"
A gasp left her mouth in shock. She knew it! She knew something was wrong. She felt it. She fucking knew. Zach and Cassie didn't even listen to her. She knew something wasn't right.
"When?"
"That night after I dropped you home. The robber was waiting for me in my garage. As I got out of the car...I felt something cold against my temple."
Her eyes went wide with shock and terror.
"He demanded the keys to my car and my phones and took off,"
That night was the most terrifying night of his life. He had never been robbed before and that evening, in that moment, he was frozen. He had no idea what to do but to give up his keys and his phones to the criminal.
For days he was sick with shock and terror. He didn't know what to do. Of course, he knew he had to report it to the police but it took him two days to finally get out of bed and visit the police station.
"Oh, my God," She cried, as she hugged him even tighter, "Did you go to the police?"
"Yeah, they caught him. He's now in custody," He breathed. Oh, he wanted so badly to give that criminal a piece of his own justice but he knew better. He couldn't go back to his old ways. He wouldn't release that darkness inside him.
"Oh, I'm so glad to hear that and I'm so happy you're okay. I've been so worried about you,'
He grinned at her as his heart fell. She was so darn sweet, "Aww, my baby has been worrying over me?"
She smacked his chest as she giggled, "Why wouldn't I be?"
He chuckled as he lifted her chin up with his pinkie, "You missed me?"
"You bet I did," She whispered, staring at his lips, distracted by how pink and plump they were.
Bringing her face up to his, he planted his soft lips on hers gently, relishing in the strawberry taste of her lip gloss. She pushed her body up against his and he grunted at the feel of her perky breasts on his chest.
He reached down to cup her pussy and she moaned softly. In one swift motion, he effortlessly tore her panties off and she pulled away, gasping for breath.
"Why did you do that?" She questioned in soft, sweet tone, with wide, surprised eyes.
He smirked as he slipped her draws in his pocket, "Because I just felt like doing it."
She giggled as a blush crept upon her cheeks. He placed a quick kiss on her cheek before releasing her, "I'll meet you in my car later, I have a lot of work to catch up on,"
She nodded in understanding, "You know where to find me if you need me,"
His smirk grew as he looked at her from across his desk, "I will always need you, babygirl,"
