Diluc x Reader | comforting you

I'm so sorry I haven't posted in quite a while, my mental health really is spiraling down. This is mostly to provide a sense of comfort for me since I kinda need that.

"Hey y/n, you alright?" Diluc asked the figure. The figure of y/n only stared back, tears threatening to spill out. Diluc took notice immediately and wrapped them in a tight and reassuring hug. "Hey hey...it's gonna be alright." He patted their head softly. Their tears began streaming down their face, staining Diluc's white vest.

Diluc got out a small handkerchief from his pocket, gently wiping away your tears. "I'll listen to whatever you need to get out. I'll always be here to support you alright." It was more ended off as a command to be stuck within your knowledge rather than a question to know. His words were gentle like the wind caressing everything around it.

He looked down at your figure in his chest, he slightly un wrapped his arms from around you as he took off his coat, draping it over your shoulders. Having some weight wrapped around one is quite comforting. "Y/n, are you calmed down enough?" He asked them. Y/n looked back up at Diluc, their face having a few tear stains and more noticeable, tired eyes. Getting your emotions out really is a tiring thing. Tear by tear seemed to bring an ounce of energy out of them.

"I see, let's go into the room so you can rest alright?" Diluc lifted you in his arms and walked to his room. His room gave off a comforting atmosphere, settling y/n's nerves a bit more.

Diluc laid them down gently in the bed, slipping off their shoes casting them aside. He did the same with his own shoes and got into bed next to them. Diluc snuggled up close to their figure, holding them protectingly but most importantly, a gentle comforting sensation was spread through them.

"I love you, don't forget that. You mean a lot to me if you weren't with me I... I would be so lost. You matter so much and you're perfect in my eyes. The past is in the past so don't cling onto it so much. It happened and there isn't anything we can do about it now. I'm proud of you for making it this far, Y/n."

He stayed with them for the rest of the night, whispering sweet nothings into their ear.
