Requirements

Maaga ako sa office sa sunod na linggo para ituloy ang trabahong naiwan noong nagkita kami ni Luke. Halos wala pang tao pero bumukas at umiikot na sa buong office ang dalawang robot kaya pinananood ko muna ito.

I saw Gio, the vacuum cleaner and Coco, the air purifier turned on by its own at exactly 8:30am. Medyo nagulat ako pero narealize din na baka naka-schedule sila kaya natuwa ako at naging interesado sa iba pa nilang features.

I looked for its user manual and got more interested, so I read through it.

It was evident that the software of the robots is consistently being updated because there are different versions listed in the manual.

Coco's latest update includes being able to send signals for emergency help. It uses olfactory technology that enables it to detect blood and smoke and send an emergency message to the emergency contacts registered.

I was curious a while ago why this robot or its software is not yet available in the market when it could potentially save a life but seeing the note that this feature is still for testing and that it uses a new technology, I got the reason – lots of testing should be done for new techs to ensure safety, privacy, and a whole lot of things.

Setting aside the user manual, I watched the smart air purifier as it does its daily scheduled cleaning. Aside from having different cleaning modes, being able to detect the pollution level, it also goes to its charging dock automatically when its battery gets low and even has the ability to self-clean its filters.

Most importantly, both the robots can be activated via voice command. Naisip ko lang, this would be perfect for our grandparents that live alone.

Nang unti – unting pumasok ang mga katrabaho ko, mabilis akong natadtad ng mga katanungan.

"Sino yung kasama niyo last week?" Tanong ni Jesse na nakaupo sa tabi ko.

"You spent the whole afternoon in Caden's office?" Si Thana naman sa kabila na parang kinikilig.

"Bagong investor ba yung kasama niyo?" Si Myles na nakatayo kasama si Ray at Jay.

They are encircling my table, masyadong halata na may chika dito.

"Calm down guys!" I tried to say and calmed myself too.

They did tone down, but they all looked at me with expecting gazes.

"That was my friend from Australia, he had business here in the Philippines kaya niya ako binisita dito sa office kasi babalik siya kaagad ngayong araw." I explained.

"Caden knows him too?" Myles asked.

I nodded. "Actually, we all met years ago when they joined a hackathon in Australia. My friend and I are part of the organizers of that event."

Myles gasped and Jesse's voice rose in excitement. "What a small world!"

Jay immediately shushed her dahil napalingon tuloy ang iba sa lakas ng boses niya.

"Wow! So kilala mo na sila ni Shelly unang araw mo palang dito?"

I nodded again. "Pero sila, hindi ako nakilala agad dahil ang tagal na din ang nakalipas." Dagdag ko dahil baka mamaya iba ang maisip nila.

"Aly." Tawag ni Jesse sa tabi ko at inikot pa ang swivel chair ko para maharap sa kanya. "Ipapaubaya ko na si Caden sayo."

"H-Ha?" Lito kong tanong. "Suddenly?"

Mas lumapit si Myles at si Thana sa amin samantalang pareho namang napailing si Jay at Ray.

"Akala ko ba, sabi mo kung hindi ikaw ang makakatuluyan ni Caden, boto mo si Shelly kasi para siyang goddess sa tech industry?" Ray asked her.
