Logic

"Wait a minute, Aly." Napahinto ako nang tinawag ako ng bus driver.

Kakadating lang namin sa hotel at nakababa na ang lahat. I'm the last one to leave because I checked the aisle and seats for things that might be left.

Pababa na sana ako dahil wala namang nakita na naiwang gamit pero lumapit ang driver at may iniabot na phone.

"I saw this beside your seat." He said.

Kunot noo ko iyon tinanggap. "Thanks."

Beside my seat? That means it's...

Bago ko pa matapos ang iniisip ay nakita ko nang patakbong bumalik si Caden at huminto sa harapan ng bus.

I slowly went out and gave his phone back. Tinanggap niya naman iyon at nanatiling nakatayo.

"Thanks." He said.

I just nodded. I don't know how to not be awkward in front of him after realizing my deepening attraction for him.

I don't know what he was doing at the bus a while ago because I put on my airpods on and just closed my eyes the whole ride. Pero ramdam na ramdam ko ang pag-galaw niya sa tabi ko. He just couldn't stay still at sa huli nakipag-usap nalang ata sa driver.

He was that bored.

Nilagpasan ko nalang siya para makapasok na.

"Aly." He called at napatigil agad ako. "Can we go to the convenience store real quick?"

"Sure." Tipid kong sagot at napapikit ng mariin.

Sometimes, I really dislike myself for not being able to turn down other people.

Tahimik lang akong naglakad habang siya ay pansin ko ang pagsulyap sa akin.

"Dito lang ako." Sabi ko nang nakarating na kami sa tapat. Wala naman akong bibilhin kaya nanatili nalang ako sa table na pinag-upuan namin noong nakaraan.

While waiting for him to finish his purchases, napatingin ako sa loob ng store at nakitang seryoso siyang pumipili. Mukhang hindi niya ata mahanap ang bibilhin niya kaya nag-tanong pa siya sa staff.

The staff told him something and he awkwardly smiled at her. As the staff left him, probably to get something in the storage, he awkwardly stood there again, waiting.

That's exactly my impression of him, he looks awkward and shy. Iyong tahimik at iiwas sa crowd o ano mang converstation. But then when you are with him, you'd see his bored and naughty side and he's actually famous in his crowd, hindi tulad sa impression ko na mag-isa siya palagi.

Umiwas ako ng tingin nang narealize na siya nanaman ang iniisip ko. Is that even possible? Falling for someone even though you know that you have no chance? Hindi ba pwedeng voluntarily huminto ang feelings mo because you know better?

Lumabas si Caden na may dalang isang plastic at dalawang ice cream. He's already opened his and gave one to me.

Mukhang mapapatagal pa kami rito ha.

"Thank you." I said and opened mine.

"You said you'd talk to me on bus rides pero tinulugan mo lang ako." He frowned.

His statement was absurd, but I laughed because I didn't know what to answer and because he looked... cute.

"Tahimik ka bang tao? Because you don't talk a lot when we are together. But then you seem friendly with everyone else and you look like you can strike a conversation with anyone." He said again.
