Ten years later

"Alright everyone get on the floor and no one gets shot!" I scream gleefully to the dozen or so idiotic customers who decided to shop at Redwoven clothes store, on this particular day. They all follow my instructions without question and lay on the wooden floors cowering. Hmm maybe they're not so stupid after all. Holding my handgun in one arm and my machete in the other I begin to circle around my hostages, all of which have huddled together in the centre of the store. Quickly I yank a middle aged women, who obviously works here due to her uniform, from the floor and onto her feet. "Shhh...Shaddddooowww....what do you wwwant? Monney iss unndderr the-"

"Do i look like i want your idiotic money you imbecile!" I interrupt, "what i want is a new outfit, you see this one does nothing for agility." I indicate while running my hands down my clothes. Ripped black leggings under a tight, long black t-shirt. My mask which is currently a black one that covers my whole face, must unnerve her as she shudders when she looks into the expressionless eyes. You see i have the name shadow for a reason. I don't get caught.

I hide in the shadows and take down enemies while being completely unseen. No, I am nothing like batman. He uses body over brains and that in its self is completely ridiculous! I calculate every robbery I do and not once have i gotten caught. I'm not quite as 'famous' as the other small minded criminals such as Joker, Scarecrow and two face but I will.....one day. "I...I think i know exactly what you are after." The lady shakily replies, pointing towards a rack of clothes. I nod a reply and follow her towards the rack, looking back at my hostages who seem quite scared as you would in their situation.

"Uh what size are you?" She stutters obviously not wanting to offend me. Good for her, the last time a hostage insulted my small size they ended up with their head straight into a meat grinder. That was my butchery robbery, boy that one made a mess.

"I am a small." I reply, quickly eyeing the clothes she is holding.

"Here," She tries to smile but ends up looking how I assume she feels inside. Terrified. "The pants are made of this new fabric that's waterproof, tough and easy to move in. Plus they're dark to suit with your.....surroundings." I have to admit they did look pretty cool. Next she hands me a black and grey corset and a pair of black leather gloves that go just below the elbow. "They're made of the same material and here are the boots." She grabs a pair of boots that go just below the knee. "The boots have grips on the bottom and the leather is coated in this resin so they wont get ruined in the rain." And with that she nods her head and quickly sits down amongst the rest of her terrified colleges.

I hear sirens in the distance so quickly I stuff my new clothes into a nearby backpack and head towards the window where the masks are. The glass shatters as my fist makes contact with it and just as i sling one leg over, something catches my eye. A beautiful black lace mask that covers your eyes is sitting on the shelf all by its self. The police are getting closer as their sirens are directly outside and I can hear thunderous footsteps ascending the stairs, but i have to get this mask. I run over toward it and swipe it off the shelf, clutching it in my hand as the doors of the store are bashed open by police in full armour, guns aimed.

"ARMS UP IN THE AIR NOW!" the one on the left yells but I'm quicker. In one second he is on the floor with a dagger in his neck.

Seeing this as time to start shooting the other police officer start firing a round of bullets as I run over to the closest window and dive head first into the dark streets of Gotham.
