Chapter 4

Boruto Uzumaki POV

"It's good to be back, but..."

I looked at Delta who was seething with rage.

"Let's handle this first!"

Himawari and dad landed on the ground and I was quickly joined by my dad. 

"Hima, you stay with Sarada and Mitsuki. I'll handle this with Dad, okay?"

"Yeah! Glad to see you back!"

I caught a glimpse of a tear rolling down her face before unsheathing my katana and directing it at Delta.

"Let's go!"

Dad and I roared as we rushed across the field, leaving behind afterimages.

Delta turned up the ground and hurled it at us, but I cut through it.

"Hima!"

"Eight-Trigrams Sixteen Palms!"

From the shattering noises behind me, I could tell that the few rocks that got past were pulverized.

"Dad! Wind!"

I jumped up and landed on my father's powerful wind release, propelling me at Delta much quicker than I could by using my own wind release.

"Coming back!"

I twisted myself in midair past Delta and launched again off of a tree, propelled by my own wind release. I slammed my feet into her back and sent her tumbling right in front of my dad, who was prepared with a Rasengan.

"Rasengan!"

"You fool!"

Delta opened her eyes and prepared to absorb the jutsu.

"She can't handle jutsu that are too big! Overload the amount she can intake!"

The small Rasengan blew up to a massive size, slightly larger than the one I used to defeat Momoshiki.

"And from the back..."

Delta's head twitched, clearly wanting to stop whatever I was about to do, but it would be at the sacrifice of her body.

"Boruto Special! Explosive..."

I formed a violent storm of chakra in my hand, completely uprooting the nearby trees.

"Rasengan!"

It was small, but the instant it touched the chakra flow of my dad's, it blew up in size, instantly enveloping Delta in the maelstrom of Chakra. 

I could hear a faint cry coming from in between the two Rasengans, and after it died out I let up.

"Phew!"

I watched the massive Rasengan my dad made vanish into thin strands of Chakra.

"Still as impressive as ever."

"I'd say! What was that jutsu?"

"It's a failure I found while testing the limits that I can use to manipulate the Rasengan. By reversing the flow of the Rasengan almost completely, the moment it comes into contact with another, like yours, it expands with destructive energy. The only drawbacks are that if I'm too close to it while it's being used, I could risk losing a hand, and it requires another powerful Rasengan like yours to activate. But for now, it's my ace in the hole! Even on its own, it can be pretty useful, although it takes a lot of my chakra for now..."

I held out a fist to my dad, who replied with the same.

"How'd you know about the Jutsu absorption?"
