"50 Laps, go!"

"100 Laps, go!"

"Climb up this mountain!"

"Weight Training!"

"200 Laps, go!"

I was exhausted beyond my mind. On top of the constant physical hell I was going through, I was also learning more about chakra control and how to expand my rather low chakra pool.

"500 Laps!"

I did have to admit, I was feeling like these laps got easier and easier by the day, so it was paying off.

"Run 1000 Laps with me, will you? If you can do that, then we'll move on to the next stage!"

"Yeah!"

Metal was already on the more advanced training. He had come quite a long way now that he had someone like me who could prove to be a decent rival in taijutsu. It had been a few months since we started doing this training, and we both had grown to be able to do exercises like these easily.

I don't think I could ever win against these Taijutsu freaks though... they're inhuman!

"Go!"

I started running at my usual pace and found my mind wandering, thinking about what Sasuke had said.

"Now, since you have that mark on your body you already should be able to do something like this. Since it needs to expand, you should feel that the chakra in your body can circulate easily, much easier than other Shinobi."

"Yeah."

"So, it's just in concept for now, but if you could master circulating the chakra throughout your body, then you could probably regain your chakra pool while running, or even in the middle of battle."

"Oh! I see..."

"It will help you since you have a low amount of chakra, in comparison to your father. You're not able to use your jutsus consecutively, nor are they as potent."

"I got that, I got that!"

"Focus on expanding the paths your chakra flows through. We spend most of our time moving and expending chakra, so this will also help to expand your chakra pool, along with time."

I meditated and found my chakra flow, looking throughout my body.

The flow of chakra...

It's working! I can feel my chakra pool regenerating!

"It's working!"

"Young Boruto, have you finally snapped out of it?"

"Huh?"

I was still running with Rock Lee.

"1598!"

"Wait, have I been running for that long?" I wasn't even thinking about it!"

"You've come a long way!"

Metal was tailing just a few feet behind us, also on his 1598th lap.

"When I think about it like that... the village is rather small, isn't it?"

"I wouldn't say that... the two of you have grown fantastically!"

We ran two more laps in silence, the fatigue I would have experienced catching up to me quickly.
