"Oh come on, wake up sleepy head!" Mara's voice could be heard, before a bucket of boiling water was poured onto Rai. His eyes shot open, and he yelled out in pain from the water. Rai tried to get up quickly, but he was chained to the wall behind him. Mara quickly kneed Rai in the jaw, making Rai stunned; he stopped struggling in his restraints.
" Today is your lucky day, you get to play with me! Isn't that the best!?" Mara had a wicked smile on his face, as he unsheathed two long daggers. Small purple and black flames flickered off of the obsidian colored blades. He took a few steps closer to Rai, kneeling down, and held one of the blades up to Rai's face, pressing it against hiss cheek. "Now, which of your limbs should I cut off first~"
"Get away from him, you haven't had the order to start yet." A she-demon scorned from outside the cell. The hell are they going to do to me..
Rai took the chance to kick Mara away from him. He went back a few feet, now into the middle of the cell. "Neither of you are any fun right now," Mara pouted, sheathing the daggers with a heavy sigh.
"I'm sorry Rai, but we have to wait a little longer until we will be able to play.." Mara complained to him. "Being that we weren't able to catch any of your friends, you are the only one able to stay with us," he continued, opening the cell door. Good, the others were able to get away.. Rai was relieved at the sound of his companions escaping. "Also, whenever you are our guest, we will be taking care of this ring for you," Mara had a wide smile as he showed Rai the ring he pulled out of his coat pocket. Rai clenched his hands.
"You are going to have to come with us," the she-demon entered the cell. She made her way towards Rai, putting her delicate pointer finger on the cut from Mara's blade. She then undid the chains from the walls, however, put new handcuffs on Rai's wrists in front of himself. She stood up, making her way out of the cell. "Now come to me, follow me to Damien." She commanded, which Rai's legs obediently started to move on their own; a heavy weight seemed to rest on Rai's shoulders whenever the she-demon said the command.
Soon, the three were climbing out of the dark chamber, and after a few turns, they were in the large throne room.
Rai's chest seemed to ache where the wound from the pole arm was whenever he caught sight of Aglar. He was standing beside the throne. Damien stood nearby looking at a portrait of what looked to be his mother; she was wearing foreign clothes and jewelry though.
"Do you know what happened to her, Rai? She ran off and I never heard from her for 16 years.." Damien said as Rai was forced to sit on his knees. " For 16 years, my wife hid herself away, as if she hasn't ever loved me for 489 years before.." Damien was now pacing in front of the large glass window beside the portrait. "Being that you've been with her those last 16 years, my son... would you tell me what happened to her?" Damien was now standing in front of Rai.
"She was shot and killed-"
"And why was that?"
"I don't kn-"
Rai was picked up by his neck before he knew what was happening, a dagger was pressing into the exposed skin. There was a cold, sinister look in Damien's eyes. Rai was struggling to breathe now, but Damien's grasp did not loosen. " I'll tell you why she is believed to be dead..." he hissed softly, the murderous look in his eyes unshaken and emotionless."She couldn't stand to raise another child like yourself, and Aglar...yessss she'd rather bore some hybrid of mortal trash and our more superior blood together with filth...and do you want to know what she did whenever she saw you were just like me?"
"SHE TRIED KILLING YOU THE DAY YOU WERE BORN RAI!!" Damien laughed manically. " She would never do such a thing!" Rai cried out gasping for air. "Oh yes she would! She put an axe to your throat and tried to behead you at that very night!" Damien continued, pressing the dagger farther into Rai's throat.
Some how, Rai was able to kick out of Damien's grasp. At that moment, Damien began to kick his ribs and back; Rai could feel bones start to crack. "DON'T EVER LET ANYONE DECEIVE YOU EVER AGAIN!" Damien hissed as he kicked Rai repeatedly.
Suddenly, Damien got control of himself, or just decided to stop kicking Rai on his own. "Well, to continue with business, you will be staying with us, Rai. You still wondering why you're so weak, even with the enhancing ring?" Rai staggered to a sitting position as Damien circled around him, a dull click clack could be heard coming from his black leather shoes. Rai stayed quiet, not wanting to say the wrong answer again.
"Well.. it's because you've been in that sick mortal world, your abilities have been dormant for too long.. and we have just the right technique to make them fully active my dear son.. Mistress Helyla, Mara, take him to the torturing plains.."
