Rai sat up slowly on the bed looking around. There was a calendar nearby, so he shuffled to the side of the bed getting ready to stand. Whenever he tried to his legs almost gave out from under him. He used the table nearby to make his way to see what the date was on the calendar. September 24, 2021.
How long have I been here for...
Get well cards lay on the table from multiple people from Rai's class, and people he knew. He saw none were from his family. He sat back down on the hospital bed just as a nurse came in the room. She dropped the check board she was carrying; she looked shocked to see Rai awake. "None of us thought you were going to wake up!" She exclaimed, picking the check board up from off the ground. "I've been out for that long?" Rai asked; his throat was so sore it was hard to talk.
"Yes.. for three months.." the nurse explained. It was hard for Rai to take this in. All those events must've been a dream.. they took place more than three months... "What happened to me.." Rai continued once the nurse hurriedly filled up a cup of water for him. "A pedestrian saw you lying on the street, you were unconscious at the time. A whole block and a half had suffered from some type of severe damage from a disaster that same night, so we believe you were struck by some sort of falling rubble or were struck by lightning. It put a lot of trauma on your body." The nurse explained.
"It's strange that none of your family came to visit you. Do you know why? We have records that some of your family is alive and living somewhere overseas.." The nurse continued. "..." Rai remembered some details that the nurse described. He remembered being chased by someone that night with a little girl..Molly?... Rai remembered now; a cold shock began taking over his body. He remember the creatures killing his mother and then coming after himself and Molly. Those parts were definitely not a dream..
"Yeah... I don't know why they wouldn't visit me.." Rai replied distantly. Rai looked over his arms; there were scars all over them, from what, he couldn't exactly remember. Then, he looked down at his wrist. "I'll be back later to check on you, don't leave the hospital until you're given permission." The nurse left after he gave this order.
There was some type of lightning insignia carved into his flesh. A burning sensation began to flare up in the middle of his forehead. The pain began to feel overwhelming. Rai stumbled into the bathroom connected to his room. He began to splash water on his face, but the pain didn't subside.
Rai looked into the mirror, watching as this insignia begin to burn into his flesh:

The memories began to flood back to Rai now. Him meeting the Meilyr Clan, finally meeting his father and brother, meeting Mara, being tortured.. everything up until his death. I must take revenge, more than ever now.. Rai balled his hands into fists, going out of the bathroom.
A knock came from the door. Ayaz came into room, which surprised and confused Rai. He was wearing normal clothes a normal person would in the mortal world; he was wearing a white shirt under his black jacket, and was wearing blue jeans to go with them, he was also wearing a cross necklace."How did you get here??" "The same way as you did." Ayaz walked into the room. "What's that on your forehead? It's glowing bright enough a mortal may be able to see it." Ayaz commented, pinging Rai where the insignia was. "Ack, don't do that, it just formed whenever I got my memories back; I don't know why I have it.." Rai explained, wincing as the pain began to flare up again. "I'm just surprised you've made it this far either way; I thought you were going to be dead for sure." Ayaz continued bluntly.
Another knock came from the door. The nurse came in with a friendly smile, although she eyed Ayaz suspiciously. "You are free to go, Rai. You just need to sign this." She handed Rai the clip board. Rai filled it out, changed into different clothes, then left with Ayaz.
"Exactly why are you here, Ayaz?" Rai asked whenever they were far enough away from the hospital. "Damien is starting to hunt for you now, he started the moment he threw you from the roof. Although you probably already know this."
"Yes, yes I do.. That bastard didn't keep up his end of the deal, I actually thought he'd be fair about the subject.." Rai said. "Well.. he's a devil for a reason, Rai.." Ayaz replied. "I'm not doing the same shit I did the first time around.. I know what I'm up against now.. from this day forth, I'll train to be stronger, and get revenge for myself, and all those who have died by my father's hands.." Rai vowed.
Ayaz looked over at Rai. "I hope you will be able go back those words up." Ayaz replied. "Don't worry, this time it will be different.. Damien will pay.. and he won't know what will hit him.."
