Rai was as frozen as a statue of ice, his gaze locked on the shadowy figures in the door frame. There was a dark aura around them, something too sinister to even dare to disobey. Dark blood began to trail down into a puddle around his mother. "GET HIM!" yelled a hoarse voice, which brought Rai back to his senses. He began to run towards his sister's room as a bullet wizzed passed his head. He pulled the door at the end of the hallway open quickly, and slammed it behind him.

He locked the door, starting to barricade the room. "Brother what's going—"
"HELP ME MOVE YOUR DRESSER AND BED NOW!!" Rai regretted yelling at her, but there was no time to wait around. Molly scrambled out from under the covers, helping her brother move the dresser and then the bed. Rai searched around hastily for whatever money he could find. He started shoving it into a backpack as the banging on the door began to start. He put his phone, some spare clothes for Molly, and snack bars into the bag. He caught a glimpse of the metal bat in the corner of the room and grabbed it.

The sound of wood cracking could be heard as the intruders began to break the door. "We have to leave, Molly," Rai said, opening the window to the fire escape. "B-but where's mommy..?" Molly asked in a shaky voice. "She's not coming with us this way, we have to go find her," Rai hated the taste of the lie on his tongue. He helped Molly out of the window. The intruders at the point almost had the door down as Rai began to climb out onto the fire escape. The thundering sound of the gun being shot could be heard. A sharp pain went through his right shoulder but he ignored it as he slammed the window down behind him.

"Brother, you're hurt!"
"Don't worry about me," Rai said through clenched teeth, as he picked Molly up, hurriedly going down the rusty stair of the fire escape. He stumbled down off of the last step; high on adrenaline, he kept running at full sprint. The voices of the men could be heard, not that far away from them. "Brother the scary people are catching up!" Rai could here their footsteps close behind them.

Rai fought for an idea on how to shake their pursuers, but his mind began to feel foggy from the pain in his shoulder. It was still raining, but was harder from earlier. He turned into a back alley; it was becoming hard to catch his breath. We have to get out of the city Rai thought gasping for breath. "STOP RIGHT THERE!" the voice sounded more like a hiss than a human voice.

What were thought to be humans were actually a human with green talon-shaped hands, the bottom half was a snake like creature. Molly screamed in Rai's arms, pressing her face into his chest. Rai's heart felt like it was going to burst. One of the strange creatures was holding the gun, the other had a dangerously sharp pole arm. The creature with the gun pointed it at Molly, clicking back the safety.

"You are coming with us or she dies," hissed one of the creatures; one slithered closer threateningly. Rai should his head fervently, taking an unsteady step back. Mercilessly, the creature pulled the trigger. A spilt second before he did, Rai had started to turn around to shield Molly. The ferocity of the pain in Rai's back made him fall to his knees. He yelled in agony. Why won't anyone come to help... Why haven't I waken up yet... None of this would be happening in real life...

He could here Molly screaming and crying, but it sounded so far away. She must be having a bad dream as well... but why isn't mom going to calm her down... The rain felt calming to Rai, like a mother's touch after you had a nightmare when you were little. He could just make out the shapes of the creatures. One of them was trying to grab for Molly. "Stay aw—way from h-her," Rai found the strength to say. They continued to grab for her, their talons slowing starting to close are her small wrist.

"Stop..l-leave her alone..." they were starting to pull her away from him now. Rai felt what little energy he had left seep into his veins, a burning feeling started to course through his wrist. He was conscious enough to tell there was blue flashes of what looked to be be lightning circling around his arm now. Thunder roar loudly in his ears from above.

The shakiness from moments ago went away. The creatures had their backs turned from Rai; they looked like they were going to walk through some portal like substance that formed out of thin air. "I...said...let..MY..SISTER GO!!" Yelled Rai over
the roar of thunder. He was blinded by a bright flash of white light, the energy he felt before, pouring out of his body as quick as it came. Soon afterwards, Rai collapsed onto the rough cement of the alley. I hope this dream will be over soon.. Then, everything went black.
