Jaison lay on his bed back at the clan's main town. He was restricted from moving too much; his chest wound wasn't healing fast. He stared up at the wooden ceiling, grief and anger clouded his thoughts. Why would Rai do this, he never acted like this before..
He did recall that he looked odd amongst the clan, but that didn't stop him from trying to help out.Jaison sat up slowly, looking around the room; nurses scurried around tending to the wounded; there was a large amount of casualties. Vanessa lay in the bed next to him; she had deep gashes of what looked like lightning markings all over her arms, and her armor over her stomach was soaked in blood. Jaison made his hands into fists, balling up the sheets on the sides of the bed. He would never hurt her like this, not without any sympathy..
Jaison remembered the image of Rai's cold eyes vividly in his mind; him looking at Jaison before he drove his sword into the his chest sent chills up and down his spine. I guess we should just move on.. Alaric never wanted us to try and bring him to our side anyway.. Jaison brought his hands up to his eyes, rubbing them. A lump began to grow in his throat; he knew he had to take Alaric's place as Lord of Meilyr Clan. It's what Alaric would want.. Jaison slid off the bed, making his way out of the infirmary.
Jaison walked down the halls to where Alaric's office was. He opened the door and inside stood Rydel, the new head commander of Meilyr's forces. He hazel colored eyes looked over at Jaison; he stood grimly near the map on the wall. He wore a commander's armor, and had a helmet tucked under his left arm.
"What is your plan, My Lord? Or haven't you got one yet?" Rydel asked, facing Jaison. "I've thought about one. I'd hate to admit it, but we may have a traitor, or they were able to get our intelligence from a captive." Jaison announced; Rydel nodded in agreement. "Most likely a captive however, though what is your plan to finish Damien and his forces?"
"Sadly, I'd say we'd have to wait until Rai kills Damien, or we have an elite group to go to Zlephia and assassinate Damien. Although, that would be difficult, what do you think?" Jaison proposed this, unsure if it would even come close to being a possibility of being successful.
Rydel stayed silent; his brow was furrowed in concentration. "Yes, we could try that, but we need something to counter Damien if he tries to shift. But, the group could go to Zlephia whenever the forces are smaller; we'd try it whenever a large portion of his army is keeping our allies at bay." Rydel finally said scratching the back of his neck while looking at the map. "We will deal with Rai afterwards, yes?" Rydel looked over at Jaison again. Jaison sighed, looking down at his feet.
"Yes, there's no hope for him anymore." Jaison said this bitterly. He will pay for the suffering he has brought to Arcadia..

Crack
The sound of the barbed whip echoed throughout the room.
Crack
Blood dripped down Rai's bare back and chest as an unknown torturer lashed the whip in repetition.
Crack..
This is the 997th time he did this.. Rai thought this, half conscious as he bowed his head looking at the ground below; he was being hung by his wrists and ankles by chains.
I don't understand.. I never did anything wrong, I followed my orders.. why am I being punished?
Crack
The barbed whip tore away at the skin on Rai's back and legs. The pain was excruciating; before Mara went to torture Ayaz, he gave Rai two large doses of the Blodyn Diafol serum. Rai closed his eyes, hoping it would be over soon.
Crack
This time, the whip sliced through the back of Rai's neck, to his shoulder. He screamed out in pain and anger, now trying to struggle against his chains. A wave of red and black lightning jumped up along the four chains, making their way to Rai and then electrocuting him. "If you keep trying to fight back, we will have to go to 1,500 lashes, Rai." Aglar called from the shadows; he was the one who sent the lightning. Rai bit back the bitter words we wanted to so badly say back to him. I must stay an obedient pawn.. just like father wants..Rai gritted his teeth, enduring the pain until Aglar finally stopped sending the waves of lightning through the chains.
Crack..
Rai closed his eyes tightly, clenching his fists as the last blow was sent. A new wave of blood began to run down Rai's back. Aglar walked up to Rai slowly, taking his time. Rai picked up his head to meet Aglar's cold purple eyes. "Have you learned your lesson?" Aglar asked, his eyes not betraying anything. "Y..es.." Rai coughed up blood; his head felt to heavy to hold up, so he let it drop back down, averting Aglar's gaze."And what might that be, Rai?" Aglar continued.
Rai stayed silent; Aglar slowly tapped his foot impatiently. "Never to defy Damien, for he is the true ruler of Arcadia.." Rai said hoarsely; he's been repeating this each time he's been tortured. "And what else?" Aglar sounded slightly annoyed now.
" I shall only serve Damien and his cause, no one else..I shall be killed if it is of dire situations.. and to protect Damien's cause.." Rai looked back up at Aglar; he seemed to be satisfied enough with his answer."Unchain his feet, but not his wrist chains; just lower the chains so he could sit." Aglar ordered to the demons who worked the chains. "You will be left in here for the next three days without any food, nor Blodyn Diafol serum." He continued;Rai looked at him, his eyes filled with disbelief, but he didn't argue back as he was lowered down. "You are not going to be here for much longer, you are still the same useless trash since the day you've arrived." Aglar hissed. "Sooner or later Damien is going to get rid of you!" Rai looked down at his bloodied chains on his wrists. He's right, it's just a matter of time until Damien thinks I'm useless..
