Regius rushed out of Elite as if it had burned him.
He'd spent the last hour in his car as he stared at the building.
What had just happened to him?
He'd been kissing Mya and he enjoyed it. He'd planned to lock the door behind them and take her right there and then.
But in the middle of his thoughts to lock the door, it was like his mind transported him elsewhere.
He was standing in a burning building screaming. The fire around him was spreading and he hid in his closet, fear overcame him.
Then the door to his closet opened and he only saw darkness.
That was it.
He'd never been in a fire before.
Growing up he had a fear of fires but his father always said it was because he'd burned his finger on the stove when he was younger.
But what he saw felt so real yet it left him confused.
What did kissing Mya have to do with fire? Was it a warning that she'd burn him?
And why if he felt as if she'd burn him did he want to race back into that building and show her he wasn't a punk.
He passed his hand over his face when a knock sounded at his window. He saw the girl from earlier, unlocking the car door as she entered, a sandwich in her hand.
"It takes you an hour to buy a sandwich?"
He questioned as she shook her head.
"No, I was giving you both time but clearly one of you blew it, tell me who?"
The girl's eyes cut into slits at him.
Guilt ate at him. Would he really tell this child about his problems?
"I know that look on your face and I'm eighteen. My mom says I look young for my age which is a good thing. Now answer me?"
Regius was tempted to tell her the truth but he didn't know her.
"Listen kid, your aunt..."
"Cousin."
She corrected him.
"It doesn't matter, we're from two different worlds. It isn't going to happen."
"You're from the same world. She's Mya Santiago."
Regius deadpanned the girl. It was something he already knew, but he played along regardless.
"You're lying."
Cataleya shook her head.
"Why do you think she was given the article? She knows a lot about hiding."
Could have fooled him, Regius thought.
She pulled out a pen and paper from her purse and scribbled a number on it.
"I think you two would be perfect for each other. If you see it too, give her a call. If not let it go and let another guy jump at your failed opportunity."
She said as she hopped out of the car.
Regius stared at the number on the paper in front of him. There was no way he was calling the woman today, not after he embarrassed himself earlier on.
Mya entered the office, the pictures between her fingertips.
The woman looked up at her as she raised one finger and pressed the phone to her ear.
