"Hey are you okay?"
Regius heard the question before the looked up.
It was them.
It was her.
He stared at them blankly.
Did they know? Had they known?
"Dad stop pestering him. His girlfriend is in the hospital, of course he's not okay."
Cataleya retorted as Regius stared at her.
It's her.
His head spun.
What the hell was going on?
How was he Kharyi?
Who was Kharyi?
"Guys go on inside and I'd meet you in a minute."
Jomauld took the seat beside Regius.
"I can't imagine how you're feeling. When I got the call that my pregnant wife was in the hospital years ago, I almost crashed into a light pole."
Regius stared at the man.
The only question that plagued his mind was did they know?
"That's the night of the fire when you lost your son?"
Jonauld nodded.
Regius needed answers because his mind was playing tricks on him at the moment.
"Biological?"
Jomauld shook his head.
"Kim had been married before, she had a son with another man, but he was mine. That boy was all the best parts of me."
Regius could feel his chest tighten.
"What was his name?"
"Kharyi."
The confession caused water to spring in Regius' eyes.
He rose to his feet, he needed some air.
"I'm sorry for your loss."
He exited the hospital as if the building itself had caught on fire as he hopped into his G-wagon.
His mind was not making any sense to him right now.
Carlos had just told him he was from a different world than them.
But in his memory he was apart of their world. He was their family.
He'd spent years with Kim and Jomauld.
He'd loved Mya as a little kid, the same way he loved her now.
But someone took him.
His eyes watered because he knew who the someone was.
What he didn't get was why?
He had no idea who the hell he was, was he Regius? Was he Kharyi?
His phone rang and as he stared at the number on the screen, he ignored it.
He couldn't talk to anyone right now.
He needed answers so he drove to the one person who could give that to him.
He found the man in the backyard, tidying up.
"Everyone's gone?"
He questioned as he stepped down into the yard.
"Yeah, you came to help your old man?"
Regius grabbed a chair and began to stack them one on top of the other.
