"What about this one?"

Regius questioned as he held the simple gold band with miniature diamonds stuck around it.

Reggie studied it as he shook his head.

"Son I don't know. This is not my area of expertise."

Regius arched his eyebrow.

"So what did you propose to Kim with?"

Reggie shrugged.

"A normal diamond ring."

Reggie said matter of factly.

"I didn't have the money you have."

Regius knew that, but he also knew his money didn't matter to Mya.

If anything she had her own.

They currently lived in her house while most of his clothes were still at his father's house.

Yes, he assisted with bills, groceries and whatever else was necessary but it wasn't things Mya couldn't do on her own.

He wanted this ring to be special to her. He wanted it to say everything he felt daily so when things got tough she knew he was all in.

There was no one else for him, but her.

"I just want it to be perfect."

Reggie confessed.

"Look for perfect and she'd say no."

The female voice said beside him causing his father to pause.

Regius stared at the man and woman that had joined them.

It had taken him three weeks to set this up and hide it from his dad.

"Reg..."

"I invited them dad. I think it was time we all spoke."

Jomauld placed his hand protectively around Kim as he stared at Reggie.

"I just need help, getting a ring first."

Regius admitted.

"This one."

Jomauld pointed at the simple gold band with the oval shaped diamond at the center.

"I got something similar like this for your mom to signify that she was the only one for me."

Reggie scoffed, earning a glare from his son.

"I bet she loved that."

He muttered under his breath as Regius deadpanned his father.

He stared at the ring and Regius really hoped that this would give him the result he wanted.

It had only been three weeks, what if she thought he was rushing?

What if she didn't want to spend the rest of her life with him?

What if she said no?

A sigh escaped his lips as he paid for the ring and led his dysfunctional family to the seating area at the mall.

His hands clasped together.

"The reason I called everyone together is because as you know Mya is pregnant and whether we like it or not, baby girl cements us all together."

Kim nodded as Reggie shrugged.

"Just as Mya does, we want all of you there for birthday parties and big milestones in our daughter's life, but that can't happen if we don't bury the hatchet."
