"You can put that in the baby room."
Mya ordered as Regius lifted the last of the presents and carried it into baby girl's room.
Her family had left some minutes prior as the man paused at the entrance to the door.
Mostly everything had been completed from the cream colored walls. To the miniature giraffe that stood by the window. The light brown chair that sat in a corner of the room.
To the translucent wall shelves that housed baby books that Mya couldn't wait to read to her baby.
The closet was packed and Mya just had the crib to mount and a little more decoration to add to the room.
The warm color rainbow that was painted on the wall right about where the crib would go needed something more to it.
"Wow."
Regius' eyes were wide as he examined the room.
"Impressive."
"Thank you."
Mya smiled as she placed her hand on her stomach as her little girl kicked.
"Is she...?"
Mya nodded.
"Do you want to feel?"
Regius nodded as he came in front of her and Mya placed his hand right where her tiny feet were kicking up a storm.
The widest grin she'd ever seen was plastered on the man's lips.
"That's a baller right there."
He joked causing her to chuckle.
"Or a dancer."
Mya teased as Regius scrunched his nose.
"That's all me right there."
Mya's eyebrows arched.
"So what did I do?"
"Besides lie down and take it."
Her jaw dropped as she playfully slapped him.
"You did not just make my role in this seem insignificant."
The man laughed as he stared at her.
"I mean we both did a lot."
His eyes were fixed on hers as she gulped, memories flooded her mind.
Damn her pregnancy hormones.
She could see the lust in his eyes as he brought his head closer to hers.
Mya knew kissing Regius would be everything she wanted, him, her baby girl, their family.
But she also knew that the man had walked out on her. He'd chosen his dad.
Something Mya was still struggling to cope with. The role his father played in the fire.
His lips were mere millimeters away from hers as she placed her hand on his chest and closed her eyes.
A sigh escaped her lips.
"We shouldn't complicate things for her."
She broke their trance as she stared at the box that housed the crib.
Regius coughed.
"You're right. Do you have any more appointments?"
Mya nodded.
