Mya stared at the white walls.
Her family had left after she'd reassured them on multiple occasions that she was okay.
The doctor said they were awaiting the results from some other tests and by tomorrow she should be able to go home.
However, Regius had not returned.
She stared at her phone screen. His messages from earlier.
She hoped he didn't blame himself for this. This was all her and memories.
She sent him a text message.
The door to her room opened as the doctor entered.
"Please tell me the tests are clear so I can go home?"
He gave her a half smile.
"Your sugar levels were low which caused you to collapse."
Mya shook it off. That was nothing.
"Okay I'd eat more sugar. Problem solved."
"For you but as a mummy to be, you need to take more precaution when it comes to eating on time."
Mya's eyes widened.
"As a what?"
She must have heard wrong.
"A mother."
Mya laughed.
"Very funny doctor. But I'm not pregnant, I'm on the pill. Regius and I..."
She paused.
They weren't always safe, but they both knew they didn't want kids so early in their relationship.
"In the morning we'd send you over to the gynecologist so we can get an idea of how far along you are. But for tonight, we just need you to rest."
Even as the doctor left, Mya was still in shock.
Pregnant.
She was growing a human inside of her. For Kharyi.
The thought alone made her laugh.
Did they really accomplish their childhood goals?
She looked up as the door opened and Regius entered.
A wide grin spread across her lips. They didn't plan for this but she knew once he was at her side, they could make it work.
"Babe where have you been? Do you know what it's like to be in a room with my family alone?"
He stood a little distance away from her as Mya stretched her hand out to him.
"They're gone plus I'm sure they know we have sex. We're not five."
He entwined his fingers with hers as she pulled him closer.
"I want you in bed with me right now with lots of kisses."
