Warning⚠~ Slight violence/blood
The gust of wind was icy. The rain was pouring down heavily. I cursed inwardly as I ran past the lonesome streets to return home however, I felt a strange presence behind me.
For each step I took forward another step could be heard behind me. The sound of puddles being stepped on echoed in my ears. I didn't have time to feel regret or curse myself for coming out here; I needed to find a way to lose whoever was stalking me.
I know I should feel fear... I'm quirkless. It's always been that way for quirkless people right? At least that what those with quirks imply. Quirk users tend to tell the quirkless ones 'I'll protect you', 'It's dangerous', 'You can't fight against villains', those sorts of things. The quirkless then believe that to be their only truth; they're useless and need to be protected always.
However, not in my case. I don't fear death. Nor can I always rely on someone to be protected always. Uncle Mirai once told me that even when I don't have a quirk I should at least try to think of a solution. An intelligent mind can often times prove to be stronger than a punch.
Aside from that, I've learned throughout the years that no one can depend on another forever. People go and come as they please. I can't stay stranded on an island and wait for help to come.
I won't feel fear. But I will also not act foolish. I'll prove to everyone that despite being quirkless I can defend myself. That I am not a worthless civilian in distress. I know I can...
"Gotcha!" a sinister voice croak out.
My thoughts are roughly cut off and my eyes widened seeing a tall man who had an unpleasant expression on his face and disheveled clothes. He didn't waste time and quickly began attacking me with his quirk; his fingers turned into daggers.
"Give it up little girl, empty out your pockets! Or else." he threatened me.
"You have an awful way of asking for things." I glared at the man.
"Shut up and do as your told!"
Think...think... I told myself over and over. He doesn't seem like a high ranked villain. More like a petty thief. I might be wrong. But I can't let him kill me. I have to try. I have to do something. Anything.
I swiftly ducked down avoiding his sharp daggers. I took the nearest object around me; a metal pipe that was lying on the ground and used it like I would a sword to strike the villain down.
"You think you can fight me?" the man angrily yelled.
His daggers clashes against the metal pole in my hands. I used all the strength I had to fight back.
"Shut your mouth!" I yelled back.
The man's eyes widened as he saw me putting up a fight. But was quickly replaced with a nasty smirk. "Huh, you're quite skilled with just a mere pipe. The boss will love you."
"As if I'll join you!" I hissed back as I evaded the dagger that was aiming at my face.
"I ain't asking! So you better come with me or else I'll tear that pretty face up good!" Not bothering to answer he was quick to conclude, "Guess that'll mean we'll be doing this the hard way."
"You talk to much. Shut. Up!" I was finally able to land a hit to his stomach.
Yet victory was short lived. The man grew angrier by the second and claimed he wasn't here to play games. Eventually he managed to hit me a couple of times. A dagger of his cutting the sleeve of my hoodie and a thin line of blood forming on my arm.
