Since the day Touya and I were reunited, we've been spending a lot of time together. Touya still has to commit to twenty years of house arrest under his dad and Shoto's review, but as everyone has told Touya, 'it could've been worse'. He's learn to accept that, though it can be frustrating at times.
Touya's slowly learned to deal with his dad. They don't have the best relationship but Enji's always reaching out to Touya, despite Touya's snarky remarks and occasional mood swings. But I know Touya well enough to know deep down he does appreciate his dad's efforts. With the others it's been different. With Rei, Natsuo and Fuyumi he's been more willing to talk to and doesn't seem to mind their company.
However, surprisingly with the person he's gotten along with even more than anyone else has been with Shoto. The two realizing they had a lot in common. They ended up hanging out with each other more than anyone expected them to. They loved eating soba together.
Not just that but with how our appearances were now, it wasn't difficult to blend in with the crowd. We weren't known as Dabi and Eris anymore.
Throughout our dating experience, I saw a softer side of Touya, which only made me fall for him even more. Turns out his rude and indifferent personality was just a cover up for his true feelings. Touya had a more sentimental side to him; I didn't think he liked animals but he did; he loved them. He loved music and art. He also had a thing for night skies. He loved laying on the ground and watching the stars. We spent a lot of time star gazing.
It made me happy to see Touya's inner wounds heal. Maybe one day Touya can learn to forget about the past even when it never dies. While the future is uncertain, what I do know for sure is that I want to be there with and for him, every step of the way.
That included these awkward conversations the Todoroki family would occasionally have.
Haru and I were sitting down as we exchanged an awkward look. The two of us were clearly hearing an extremely awkward conversation between Shoto, Fuyumi, and Touya.
"Fuyumi, I see your point, but you also need to see Touya's." Shoto defended Touya, much to everyone's surprise. "It's too much for him for a family dinner."
"Besides it's not like we're a family again. Natsuo doesn't even want to come either. He told me. Shoto also doesn't need to see the old man." Touya spoke with a tired tone.
"Well how do you expect to let everyone else know?"
"Email? Text? Why don't you tell them for me?" Touya shamelessly added.
Haru and I looked at each other with an odd look. What are they even talking about?
Shoto sighed, "Touya that's not an option. Remember what the therapist told you?"
"But..." Touya whined, "I don't want a family dinner, it's like accepting our family shitshow is fixed when it's not. Mom and the old man aren't even together as a couple, they're separated. So, I don't see the point in all of us being uncomfortable."
"What if it was a bigger dinner? One that's not just us family members?" Fuyumi questioned.
"That could work, we could invite close friends and it won't be such a private matter." Shoto added, "Would that work for you Touya?"
There was a moment of silence before he said, "Yeah, as long as there's no awkward family shit. I don't want my [Y/N] going through anything bad or feel uncomfortable."
"You have our word." Shoto replied.
Haru and I were baffled. I looked at Haru and whispered, "What the hell was that? Why a dinner party?"
