Chapter 15-Love's Overture

Techno leaned in towards Kao and uttered a hushed phrase, a prelude to an unexpected turn of events.

"He's inside," Techno informed Kao, a knowing look shared between them.

Without hesitation, Kao proceeded towards the designated room. The door swung open, revealing Nil engrossed in conversation with his sister. Interrupting their exchange, Kao called out to Nil.

"Nil..."

Shocked, Nil turned to his sister, a sudden urgency in his voice, "SD, I'll talk to you later."

Responding to Kao's call, Nil inquired with a mix of surprise and curiosity, "Strangerrr, what are you doing here?"

Kao remained cryptic, dismissing questions with authority. "No questions, just come."

Attempting to resist, Nil hesitated, "Nope, I am busy nowww."

Kao's response was firm, "Come with me quietly, otherwise..."

Curiosity overcoming reluctance, Nil queried, "Otherwiseee, whattt?"

Kao hinted at a veiled consequence, "I have to use my strength, and I know you won't like it."

Growing annoyed, Nil retorted, "Now you're doing too much, Strangerr. And, I told you I'm busy now. I haveee to goooo outtt."

Kao, undeterred, placed a hand on his head, a subtle smile playing on his lips. "Such stubbornness, you've left me no choice. Sorry, Nil."

Perplexed, Nil questioned, "For What?"

Without further explanation, Kao effortlessly hoisted Nil onto his shoulder. Nil, now frustrated, exclaimed with a mixture of anger and pity, "Have you gone mad! I said take me down."

Kao, unfazed, responded, "Nope."

Nil, concerned about appearances, argued, "What would everyone think if they saw us like this? Stranger, take me down. I am going with you."

Kao, resolute, retorted, "You should have thought of that earlier... now, too late."

Amidst the unfolding scene, the chatter outside reached a crescendo. Mary couldn't contain her excitement as she turned to Techno.

"See, I told you Kao likes Nil. Actually, 'likes' is a small word. He loves Nil. They have been inside for a long time. Techno, do you have any idea what they are doing inside?"

Annoyed by the speculation, Techno hushed her, "Can't you be quiet?"

Kao emerged from the room, Nil on his shoulder, much to the astonishment of everyone present. Nil, still protesting and seeking help, struck Kao's back in frustration. The cafe was abuzz with murmurs, the shocking tableau of Kao carrying Nil leaving an indelible mark on their collective imagination.
