#GospelReflectionChallenge'Joyful Anticipation'
God has favorites, and His is our Blessed Mother. From the moment of her conception in the womb of her mother St. Anne, God has already a plan for her. She was immaculately conceived, free from the stain of sin, to prepare her for the task of becoming the Mother of the Incarnate Word. We can see in her life that she was favored by God. She has an important role for the salvation of humankind. There is no doubt that from the way God favored her and from the way she lived her life that she will eventually be assumed, body and soul into heaven. 'Assumption' means that our Blessed
Mother was taken into heaven by God's grace. She did not ascend by her own power, but was assumed or taken by God.
As we listen to the "Magnificat," the song of praise of our Blessed Mother, we can observe that her words directed to God are coming out from her soul and spirit. She is more concerned on her spiritual welfare. All of her words were spiritually articulated. We are challenged to do the same, to be like her, to be more concerned on the welfare of our soul. Eventually, God will find favor in us, if we live with a healthy soul that is worth saving.Lord Jesus Christ, fill us with your Holy Spirit and give us joy in seeking you more. Increase our faith, our hope and our love for You.
Mary, Mother of God. Pray for us! Amen.
