Harry knew being an auror was hard. He knew it was a dangerous job. That’s why he isn’t. But that doesn’t mean Draco isn’t. Draco feels he owes it for being on the wrong side of the war. That’s why Harry worries as much as he does.
See Harry is a healer. He takes his job very seriously. He still wanted to help others, he just didn’t want the danger. He is one of the best healers in the wizarding world. Specializing in both magical and muggle methods. He likes what he does and he is good at it.
So when the person he cares about most comes in barely breathing, it was no surprise that he took the job. Quickly telling the secretary to reschedule the check up with another patient he gets to work.
“How did this happen?”
He mutters quietly as he starts to heal his ribs.
“Crap.”
One of Draco’s ribs fractured his lung. If he didn’t act quick, he could- let’s not think about that. He starts using his magic to mend the lung. When Draco starts breathing a healthy amount he lets out a sigh of relief. By the end of the night Draco was in a stable condition. Harry quickly bandaged his wounds. Draco was still unconscious but he needed to rest anyway. Harry soon started feeling the toll of using so much magic. Harry laid down next to Draco snuggling into his side.
When Draco woke up Harry was still asleep. It took a bit for Draco to realize where he was. He took a look over at Harry who was softly snoring, face buried into his chest.
“Cute.”
Draco tried to get up but Harry clearly didn’t want him to leave.
“Don’t go.”
Draco surrendered, not even bothering to try anymore.
“Don’t worry. I am not going anywhere.”
Harry does worry, but let’s him go anyway because he knows he will always be here to heal him.
