If you know Bruce Wayne, then you would know that he doesn't take things for face value. He dives in, fact checks, ensures they are telling the truth before trusting. So when Sabine, a "friend" from college, called him out of the blue, explaining that he had a daughter, of course he was skeptical. But when a DNA test arrived, proving the fact, well who was he to say it was wrong. So he called Sabine back and asked what she wanted. She told him of her, no their, daughter, Marinette. How she had begun to bully and hurt people in her school. How at first she didn't belive that her sweet, kind, gentle Marinette could do that. But then Sabine told him of her strange absences, how she would just disappear from her room, or school, without telling anyone. Of her obsession with a boy named Adrien a year earlier, and her vehement hatred of a girl named Lila. How her excuses of where she had disappeared off to were contradictory, and of her expulsion that seemed to be deserved more and more everyday. It just added up. And so Sabine had asked him he could take Marinette, just for a year, to see if it would help her get over her hatred for the girl named Lila. And, for some reason, he had agreed.
Of course, he wasn't going just take Sabine's word for it. Which was why he was here, sitting in the bat-cave, Marinette's files pulled up.
And it seemed that Sabine had told the truth. There, sitting before him in all thier glory, were records of multiple absences and mysterious disappearances from school, bullying reports, and the big black mark that was her expulsion.
Well, Bruce thought, at least she doesn't kill people.
"Alfred, I need you to prepare a room."
A/N This ones a little short, but it's just the Wayne side of things. Thanks for reading!
