Bruce and Marinette sat across from each other in silence. Bruce had spent the past 30 minutes explaining to Marinette that they had all though she had been kidnapped because the Waynes were a target for like 90% of the cities villains.
Now Marinette was debating on whether or not to tell him she was a super hero. She finally decided against it and got up to leave.
"Marinette wait." She paused and turned to look at him.
"What?"
"I-I wanted to say that I, well I wanted to tell you that-that I'm sorry for how I treated you. I was wrong. I should have asked you instead of going off what your mother said. I should have waited to judge until I had met you. And I'm sorry for everything I did that made you feel unwelcome and ostracized. I hope you can...forgive me, but I-I understand if you can't." Bruce stared down at the table, guilt eating him up inside. He felt a hand on his shoulder and looked up to see Marinette.
"You're lucky I'm a good person. So yes, I forgive. But that doesn't mean I'm going to forget. And I want some boundaries put in place. I don't want Tim monitoring my phone anymore, I don't want Jason or Damian or Jon to accompany me everywhere I go, and I want Damain to teach me self defense." Really she just wanted an excuse to kick his butt.
"I can manage that." Bruce smiled and held his hand out to his daughter, "I think that's a fair deal."
"Thank you Bruce. Oh, and goodnight."
"Goodnight." He stared after Marinette as she walked away, left with a feeling of fullness he hadn't felt in a while. However, that feeling went away once he remembered the trip.
"I knew I shouldn't have invited that Paris class."
"You did what?"
