Part XXVII: Starting the Rescue

{3rd Person}

"Yeah, great at getting us in trouble. The girl is no better." Han spoke ill about Obi-Wan and Jaydin.

"I didn't hear you giving any ideas. Besides, at least I know Jaydin isn't that reckless." Luke responded.

"Well anything would be better than just hanging around for him and the girl to pick us up." Han said. 

"Who do you think..." Luke started to say before being interrupted by Artoo whistling and beeping.

"What is it?" Luke asked as he walked to the droid.

"I'm not quite sure, sir. He says 'I found her' and keeps repeating, 'She's here.'" Threepio explained.

"Well, who... who has he found? Jaydin? She went with Ben." Luke questioned. Artoo let out another string of whistles.

"Princess Leia." Threepio translates.

{Luke POV}

"The princess? She's here?" I question the small droid.

"Princess? What's going on here?" Han asks me.

"Level five. Detention block A A-twenty-three. I'm afraid she's scheduled to be terminated." Threepio says, translating what Artoo said.

{3rd Person}

"Jaydin?! What are you doing?" Obi-Wan whisper-shouted at his daughter before continuing, "You should've stayed with Luke and that pilot." Jaydin smiled, as if to say "Im' not staying with them. What else does it look like I'm doing?"

The father sighed and motioned for his daughter to follow him. Jaydin and Obi-Wan walked in silence, the girl's lightsaber hilt in her hand. Her heartbeat pounded in her ears, eyes flickering everywhere. The elderly man noticed his daughter's frantic look and interlocked their hands as a sign of comfort. She looked down at their intertwined hands and then up to meet her father's old, calm eyes.

{Jaydin POV}

"You sense the darkness in here don't you, father?" I spoke softly, motioning to the surrounding area.

"I do, now we must hurry and get to the main computer." Father said. I nodded and went quiet, he obviously had something on his mind that he wasn't telling me, but I knew I shouldn't push it. Not yet, not when our lives are in danger. 

"I'll ask him about it when we get out of here." I think to myself before clearing my mind.

{3rd Person}

A small vacuum elevator arrived at the place Chewbacca, Luke and Han, the latter two being in the full uniform for the Stormtroopers, were waiting.

"I can't see a thing in this helmet." Luke murmured as a bureaucrat raced to board the elevator as well. Han waves it away as the pod-like doors to the elevator close and the elevator car takes off.

{Main Hallway, Death Star}

There was a large hallway where several Imperial officers passed by several Stormtroopers and a droid, that seemed similar to Threepio. At one end of the hallway, a a flash of Jaydin and Obi-Wan Kenobi appears before the two disappear down a smaller hallway, as quickly as they had appeared.

Their appearance was so sudden that you could not tell if it was them or just an illusion. However the look on Jaydin's face could make it easier to tell. Luckily, no one in the main hallway seemed to notice the father and daughter duo.

{Detention Area}

A grim, tall officer approached the trio as the elevator door opened.

"Where are you taking this.... Thing?" The officer questioned. Chewie growled at the remark as Han nudges him to shut up.

"Prisnor transfer from Block one- one- three-eight." Luke answered.

"I wasn't notified. I'll have to clear it." The officer said, turning to go check his console. As the officer begins to punch in the information, Han and Luke begin to examine the situation.

They checked all of the alarms, camera eyes, and laser gates. There were only a few other people in the room besides the officer, Han, Luke, and Chewbacca; just three other Stormtroopers. Quiet and subtlety, Han unfastened one of Chewbacca's electronic handcuffs.

Then Han shrugged at Luke. That was the signal Chewbacca needed and threw his hands up, letting out an ear-piercing howl. Then the large Wookie grabbed Han's blaster rifle.

"Look out! He's loose!!" Han yelled.

"He's going to pull us apart!" Luke added.

"Go get him!" Han yelled.

The Stormtroopers were momentarily dumbfounded, giving Han and Luke time to pull out their blasters. They started blasting wildly around the Wookie. All blaster shots had missed.

However Chewbacca didn't, he had got the camera eyes, the laser gate panel, as well as the Imperial guards. The officer had beem the last to fall, out of the Imperial guards, under the blaster fire; right as he was about to push the alarm system.

{Jaydin POV}

Father and I walked through the maze of small hallways silently. I could feel the darkness of the place grow as I tried to distance myself from the force.

"We should be close soon Jaydin. I'll need you to keep watch alright? You think you can do that?" Father suddenly asked in a whisper.

"I- Uh yes I can try Father." I whisper back after a moment of shock.
