Part XXX: On The Run

{3rd Person} {Empty Hallway, Main Hangar}

Leia, Luke, Han, and Chewbacca ran down the empty hallway and stop at the large bay window. The window overlooked the freighter that had a crowd of Stormtroopers moving around it. Luke took out his comlink.

"There she is." Han spoke staring at his beloved ship.

"See-Threepio, do you copy?" Luke questioned, speaking into his comlink.

"For the moment. Uh, we're in the main hangar across from the ship." The voice of the golden droid rang out.

"We're right above you. Stand by." Luke said.

Han watched as around a dozen Stormtroopers walked in and out of his ship. Leia walked over to him, putting her hand on his shoulder, pointing out towards his ship.

"You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought." She exclaimed.

"Nice! Come on!" Han said, giving her a dirty look.

The group then started off, going further down the hallway, before turning the corner. Upon turning the corner, the group was met with twenty Imperial Stormtroopers heading towards them. Both groups stop in their tracks, having been taken by surprise.

"It's them! Blast them!" A trooper yelled out after finally coming to his senses.

Before thinking, Han had his blaster pulled out and was charging the Stormtroopers as he fired it. The blaster had knocked one of the troopers back, Chewbacca following his friend down the corridor, stepping over the fallen Stromtrooper.

"Get back to the ship!" Han yelled back to Luke and Leia.

"Where are you going? Come back!" Luke yelled after the fleeing captain, who had already rounded another corner and didn't hear it.

"He certainly has courage." Leia said after a minute of silence.

"What good does it do us if he gets himself killed? Come on!" Luke said before rushing down towards the hangar of the starship, Leia falling closely behind as alarms started blaring down on the hangar deck. 

{Jaydin POV} {Small Hallway}

Father picked up the pace as we heard faint alarms begin to sound off. My heart pounded in my ears along with the sound of our footsteps. The soft thumping sounds were drowned out by the blaring alarms. A dark feeling was seemingly all around us. The Dark Side of the Force.

"What did those bantha brains do now?" Father mumbled about Luke and Han as we slowed down to a brisk walk. The sirens were a little louder now.

"Well they did something to cause the alarms to go off, Father." Jaydin said, stating the obvious.

Father looked back at me, giving me a knowing look. I raised my hands in defeat, a playful smile on my face.

{3rd Person } {Subhallway}

Luke and Leia rushed down a narrow corridor, Luke wildly blasting his blaster behind them. Several Stormtroopers were following them. Leia and Luke reached an opening in a hatch and quickly go through it. They step onto with a narrow bridge that resides over a looming void that seems infinitive, Luke having almost fallen into the void. Leia quickly grabs a hold of his arm, catching him and pulling him back onto his feet.

"I think we took a wrong turn." Luke gasped.

Blasts explode from the Stormtroopers' blasters, reminding the two of the Stormtroopers' presence and oncoming danger. Luke fires back at the Stormtroopers as Leia hits a switch on the control panel, causing the steel door to slam shut. Shots continued to hit the steel door from from the troopers' side.

"There's no lock!" Leia exclaimed. Luke looked over and shot the control panel.

"That should hold it for a while." Luke stated.

"Quick, we've got to get across. Find the control that extends the bridge." Leia said.

"Oh, I think I just blasted it." Luke said sheepishly, looking at the busted control panel. On the other side of the door, Stormtroopers started making drilling and pounding sounds.

"They're coming through!" Leia exclaimed as Luke noticed something on his Stormtrooper belt.

Suddenly a blaster shot whizzed past Luke and Leia, into the wall behind them. Perched upon a overhang bridge higher up, stood three troopers. Luke fires his blaster at one, then another,  the second one falling into the void below. The last trooper backs away and off of the bridge as Luke hands Leia his blaster.

"Here, hold this." Luke stated before pulling a nylon cable out of his belt. Attached to the cable was a grappling hook.

The Stormtrooper appeared back upon the bridge overhang and fired down at Luke and Leia. Leia quickly returns fire, as Luke works with the grappling hook. Another trooper joins the one upon the overhang, also firing. Leia, too, returns his fire. Suddenly, the door behind the two began to open.

"Here they come!" Leia said to Luke as she fired at on of the troopers above them, hitting him and making the Stormtrooper fall into the void below.

Luke tossed the cable, the cable wrapping around and attaching itself to a pipe across the void. The farmboy tugged at the cable, making sure it was secured before grabbing Leia. The Princess looks at the farmboy before giving him a quick kiss on the lips, stunning him.

"For luck!" Leia explains.

Luke then pushed off of the bridge, causing them to swing across the hazardous abyss. Right as they reach the far side of the section, the hatch broke open, Stormtroopers filing out of it. The Stormtroopers began firing as the duo escaped. Luke turned back and returned some fire, before slipping into a small sub-hallway, following the Alderaanian Princess.

{Narrow Hallway}

Obi-Wan and Jaydin stood in the shadows of the narrow hallway, watching as several Stormtroopers ran past them in the main hallway. Obi-Wan quickly checks to make sure that they are gone before motioning Jaydin to come out and follow. The father and daughter duo then start to run down the main hallway, in the opposite direction of the troopers. Unbeknownst to either Jaydin or Obi-Wan, Darth Vader stood at the far end of the hallway and watched as the duo ran off before starting after the old Jedi and the young woman.
