Chapter 10:

Surprise, surprise!

Jasmine had been a week at Hogwarts, when she thought it was time to jump in action.She hadn't pulled a single prank, as it would be way too obvious, but now, where students where concentrating on other things, she knew it was time to start. She didn't know when, but she wanted to pull it on the first of October.

Obviously, after hearing that 'The Marauders' were pranksters, Jasmine had been observing them carefully.

She had noticed that Potter would ask Lily at least on one a day, instead of, as she has heard from Alice and Marlene (her best friends), five times a day. Something was making him lose his interest in Lily, and Jasmine wanted to know why; after the patronus incident, she was very curious about him.  Black was like the male version of Marlene. He was always flirting with another girl, even if he had a girlfriend, not to mention that, he, along with Potter, seemed to be the most popular boys at Hogwarts. Then there was Remus, who followed the rules, but seemed a bit flexible bout them in certain occasions. He and Jasmine were polite to each other, maybe enough to call themselves friends, while the other Marauders hadn't spoke with her since here first day. Coming last, Pettigrew, who Jasmine did not like. He clearly enjoyed to be in presence of his popular friends and was such a big follower, that he didn't seem to have his own opinion or life. Besides, Jasmine noticed that, if you could give him more than the others he would follow you and then probably backstab you. She knew it wasn't good from her side to already have formed such a low opinion about him (who knew, maybe he was different), but Jasmine couldn't help it.

While thinking about all of this, Jasmine was having dinner at the Great Hall, listening to Marlene's monologues about boys. As much as she loved that girl, as much as she was her second sister (letting Lily out), her monologues were torture.

,,Do you think I should flirt with Diggory in front of his girlfriend? Or do I make them break up? And when they break up, how long do I stay with him? Maybe I should see how he is in—"

Alice shoved a piece of bread into her mouth

,,Thanks Mar, but we don't need to know the details"

Marlene nodded offended,  but (unluckily) decided to forgive her and keep talking.

,,My dear students, staff and ghosts," Dumbledore suddenly interrupted them ,,I believe, today I will announce this year's Headboy and Headgirl—"

,,Wait, they still haven't chosen?"

Jasmine asked her friends, who shook their head

,,Every year, he waits until the middle of September before announcing. I think he wants either to see if we re really able to deal with that job, or..." Alice grinned ,,He wants to play matchmaker again"

,,Matchmaker? How come?"

This time Marlene whispered:

,,Well, the Heads get a common room to share and dormitories to themselves (each). Besides, all the Heads that ever assisted Hogwarts while Dumbledore was Headmaster ended up marrying.''

Jasmine looked shocked at her friends

,,You're joking!"

,,Nope!"

Marlene said, popping the 'p' and looking back at the Headmaster

,,I have the pleasure to announce, that this year's Headgirl will be..."

There was a dramatic pause, while almost every seventh year girl held her breath

,,Miss Jasmine Evans!"
