Chapter: 25

A month

A month. That's how long had happened.

Since Jasmine had seen it. Since the school was gossiping about it.

A month, since Lily and James had kissed.

A month, since Jasmine had started to avoid him (which wasn't very easy, as they had to patrol together, prepare prefect schedules and more, plus, they shared a common room, so...).

It hadn't been until the party until she noticed. Until she finally noticed.

That she liked James freaking Fleamont Potter.

It had been the moment she denied it to Lily. And then, after seeing them kissing... Jasmine suddenly understood her weird feeling. It all made sense. The happiness...the 'feeling-better'... The fact that he had been the one to comfort her...

It all made sense now. Jasmine didn't understand how she hadn't noticed before. Wasn't she smart?

But people tend to become oblivious about their love life in most of the cases.

Seeing James Potter like that...with Lily...

She couldn't bear it.

On one side, Lily, the one who had faked herself for so many years, threatening her own sister, letting her jealousy conquer and making her turn against a lot of people... With her electric blue eyes and ginger, curled hair... On the outside she looked like a little angel. But on the outside...

And then, on the other side, James—why did she keep saying James instead of Potter?—, with his hazel brown eyes and messy black hair... The funny prankster... Though Jasmine didn't know him as well as Lily, she could tell that his actions were genuine. Why—how had that happened?

Jasmine knew that he had liked her since their first year at Hogwarts.

And yet, she had—she had hoped (not knowing it of course) that this would change.

Now she realised how stupid she had been. Why would he suddenly change his feelings?

It was stupid of her to believe that she had hope.
