Recap

Hayl + Sameal resue Lilith from the Icy Inferno. Lilith remembers nothing but the ice. She and Sameal almost Kiss but Sameal pulls away when he hears Hayl entering the room. Lilith is frightened at the sight of Hayl, who's furious with Sameal + reminds him that he should keep his distance from Lilith because she's a threat but Sameal cannot understand how anybody so vulnerable looking can be a threat.

Lilith is overcome with dread at the sight of her blood stained dirty dress and blacks out onto the floor where she dreams of cold darkness and sickening dripping sounds. Hayl explains to Sameal that she's blacked out that she also suffered from blackouts before she was trapped in the icy inferno and that the black outs cause her memory loss. She wakes from the blackout reciting the lyrics "Everything will slip away; shattered pieces will remain, when memories fade into emptiness, only time will tell its tale, if it all has been in vain" lyrics which she heard in her dream.

Hayl sends Salisa upto her to help her dress because they're leaving the old hotel soon. Sameal tells her Hayl won't hurt he,  kisses her forehead then leaves her alone with Salisa, who threatens her to stay away from Sameal whilst shaking her violently. Lilith's patience slips at Salisa's wickedness + she feels a shiver through her body, which makes Salisa release her + back away frightened whilst blood drizzles from her nose.

Hayl paces in the foyer muttering foreign words and moving his fingers like pincers. Sameal express's his respect for Hayl and his supernatural gift's but regrets that much of his own gifts are inadequate now that there on the other side. Salisa bursts into the foyer with blood smeared over her face frantic over what Lilith had done to her (pointing to her nose bleed). Hayl somehow knows she threatened Lilith + is furious with her, throwing her across the floor and gripping her head. Sameal is disguised at Salisa's wickedness to Lilith but fears Hayl is about to kill her.

Lilith stands in the doorway of the foyer having changed clothes and quietly tells Hayl to release Salisa. Hayl does as she says, backing away defencelessly and Salisa bolts. Sameal is shocked by Hayl's obeying Lilith and notices the cold chill in the room.

Lilith asks Hayl where are they leaving too and he explains that he isn't sure but doesn't want to risk staying at the old hotel longer because Ardiel and others knew she was in the depths of the icy inferno and that it won't be long before they start looking for her, that Ardiel already knows she is missing from the inferno but is playing it safe trying not to draw attention to herself, but soon she will come. Lilith is frightened knowing she is right to fear Ardiel and wants to know why she and others will come for her but Hayl tells her not to worry.

The three of them leave Salisa behind and Hayl worries that he has made a mistake giving her pardon for her disobedience and wickedness, that she will alert Ardiel + the others of their whereabouts

Sameal cradles Lilith in the back of the car whilst she dreams of a scythe chasing her. Hayl swerves the car to an abrupt stop lifting Lilith from the car bellowing that they must catch a train. Lilith wakes on the train in Hayl's arms. Hayl + Sameal notice nuns in the same crowded carriage as them + try to leave the unnoticed by them.

The carriage doors seal shut after they leave and people bang on them angrily. The nuns begin to pray franticly "Lord in Heaven above, protect your earth children from the Demon's outside our carriage, protect the world from their sins, deliver the world from their evil, Hallowed be thy name." Their prayers make the trio dizzy, light headed and content, when the train races away Lilith feels as if her mind has been watched by freezing water and is aware abruptly aware that Ardiel + the others know where to find them.

Hayl complains about nuns and their blinded faith but despite his annoyance is determined to protect Sameal and Lilith from Ardiel + the others. He begins guiding them up the steps of the subway + as he looks at their expressions he is reminded that they can in fact protect themselves.

Sameal is unclear as to what Ardiel + the others want with Lilith but is also determined to protect her, explaining that he from the moment he saw her trapped in the icy inferno he was overcome with a desire to protect her. He is unhappy when Hayl instructs that Lilith must face them alone but before he can question his plan Hayl demands that he follow and he does feeling as if he has no control over his actions.

Lilith's POV

The incline of the subway steps seemed never ending beneath my hurried footsteps as I struggled to keep up with Hayl's hasty pace. He had his hand loosely clasped around my wrist, forcing me forward quicker than my legs were really capable, but I ignored the weakness of my knees and the ache of my calve muscles because I was determined not to lag behind at a time like this. For this was most certainly not a time for slowness or weakness.

Luckily the steps did eventually come to an end and we stepped out into the dull morning, gratefully leaving behind the noisy bustle of the subway. Trying to steady my breathing, I cast my eyes briefly over the shadowed city whilst the city fumes filled my nostrils, making it even harder to keep my tears at bay.

I was trying so hard to stay focused, to be brave, and to not crumble under the extreme fear and confusion that consumed me. Many questions swamped my mind; how had the nuns alerted Ardiel and the others of my presence, who were they, why were they coming for me, what did they want? The lack of answers I had to such queries made me evermore apprehensive and intensely fearful of the unknown.

I searched Hayl's face silently begging for answers but as I read his change in expression I somehow knew I would find no reassurance from him now. His eyebrows puckered inwards creating numerous more frown lines upon his already furrowed face before he spoke demandingly.

"Now listen up you two, the nun's alerted Ardiel and the others of our current location and they're coming, in fact they will be here any second; now if we want to escape, You young Lilith need to stay right here, whilst Sameal and I go... go...over there."

I felt my eyes involuntary widen and my bottom lip quiver slightly as the realisation sunk in that I would have to face Ardiel and the others alone. Too afraid to protest I gazed at both Hayl and Sameal in disbelief, noting their pained expressions as I blinked rapidly trying to prevent my tear ducts from leaking.
