Samael's POV

-Memory Loss-

Gently turning her frail body onto her back, I stared down at her beautiful face, noticing the faint blue bruise upon her forehead; touching it feather light with my finger tip - whilst feeling immensely panic stricken.

"Lilith, Lilith, wake up please, please wake up." I pleaded softly running my fingers tenderly through her blonde locks as I knelt beside her.

Hayl's slow calm footsteps momentarily distracted me from my begging and I looked up into those cold dark eyes searching for the comfort and support that

I should have known I would never find from Hayl.

He did however answer my silent pleas tediously and insultingly, "You're such a drama queen Samael, she is perfectly fine."

"She doesn't look fine!" I forced through gritted teeth; unable to mask my deep annoyance at Hayl's uncaring calmness - I was beginning to think the guy was completely incapable of caring or expressing any emotion.

But then the next thing he did proved me wrong; for Hayl let out an aggravated grunt before bending down and effortlessly scooping Lilith's frail limp body up into his arms and carried her over to the brown blanketed bed, where he gently lowered her body.

I remained knelt upon the carpeted ground watching with surprise in my eyes as Hayl perched on the ancient bed beside her before slumping forward and

resting his head in his aging hands. I felt my eyebrow involuntary arch as I observed his strange behaviour, whilst forcing my muscles to lift me up off the carpet.

Casually I shoved my hands into the pockets of my jeans and stepped forward, stopping only when I was towering over Hayl's slumped form; "Fine Huh?"

"Yes Samael, she is perfectly fine; she has blacked out is all."

"Bla-cked out?" I stuttered frowning.

"Yes Samael, she has blacked out, just as she did when you released her from the icy inferno; just as she always did - before she was trapped."

My response was an unintelligent one and consisted only of the word "Huh."

"I don't entirely know the reason why she routinely blacks out Sameal; only that they cause her memory loss."

"You knew before I told you, that she couldn't remember anything?" I asked shocked.

"Yes Samael, I knew or rather I suspected as much."

I perched beside him on the brown covered bed, mimicking his slumped position; wondering how Hayl could ever consider somebody that was not only immensely vulnerable but also suffered from both memory loss and black outs as dangerous.

The next few moments were spent in silence as I examined Hayl with a new appreciation from the corner of my eyes; thankful for finally being given some answers. But I didn't waste much thought for him because relief soon cursed through my veins, at the sound of Lilith's soft murmurs.

"Everything will slip away; shattered pieces will remain, when memories fade into emptiness, only time will tell its tale, if it all has been in vain." She recited softly and slowly; pulling herself up into a sitting position - before resting her tiny hand gently on my shoulder.

A cold chill radiated from her delicate hand all the way down my arm and the scene of the retro suite before me was momentarily replaced with cloudy darkness; but no sooner had the darkness appeared it disappeared - causing me to wonder whether I had in fact imagined it.

Pushing the worries from my mind I twisted my body around to Lilith grinning broadly as I addressed her light heartedly "Well good morning Sleeping Beauty, how about we get you out of that blood stained dress huh?"

She chewed on her bottom lip as pink coloured her cheeks and the realisation of my corny and so very easily misunderstood comment sunk in and coloured my own cheeks pink.
