Bucky Barnes: The love of my life

"Oh wow, you're gonna pull that card?"

The next morning you wake up with Bucky laying on your chest. Last night you took turns feeding Allie. You feel nauseous but you don't want to move him and wake up. You take a drink of water from off the nightstand to see if it helps, but it doesn't.

"Babe?" You whisper to him. "Baby, wake up."

"Huh?" He mumbles. "Why?"

"I don't feel good." When you say this he instantly gets up and you run to the bathroom. He runs after you and holds your hair up as you throw up. As you throw up he starts to feel sick too but he holds himself together until you're done. He washes your face with a cold rag and when you're okay he starts to throw up. You run your hands through his hair as he throws up and rub his back trying to comfort him. When he's done you wash his face with a cool rag as well. You sit together on the bathroom floor for a while.

"Food poisoning?" He asks.

"Do you think it was the leftovers we ate yesterday?"

"Maybe. If it was just you I'd say you're pregnant but we're both throwing up..." he says.

"I wish It was just me throwing up." You say sadly. He kiss you and you both taste disgusting. "That was gross." You laugh.

You get up and brush your teeth together and once you're done he kisses you again.

"Do you want to start trying again?"

"Yea, it's been a month. I'm all flushed out. I was ovulating two weeks ago though so there's a slim chance right now. We can still try. Later not now, I feel like shit." He laughs and kisses you again.

"Okay. I feel like shit too, so good call."

"Let's feed Allie and go back to sleep."

Later that night you and Bucky are in the kitchen. He's feeling much better but you're not. You eat a little bit but not much. Steve is playing with Allie in his room for a little while.

"Are you up for another press conference soldier?" Tony comes in and asks Bucky.

"I don't think so. Y/n isn't feeling well and I can't leave her alone with Allie." Bucky replies.

"I'm fine baby, you can go."

"I still can't believe you two brought a cat here without asking me first." Tony says.

"She's my baby." You say. "I can't have a real one, the least I can have is a cat."

"Oh wow, you're gonna pull that card?"

"It not a card tony, it fucking sucks. All I want is a baby and I can't fucking have one. Let me have the god damn cat. Okay?"

With that you leave the room and go to your bedroom. Bucky stays in the kitchen for a minute to talk to Tony.

"I'm sorry about that Tony, she's having a hard time, we both are. Just go easy on her. I know you were just joking about the cat but things like that don't go over well anymore, she's so stressed and I think that's part of the reason why we're not able to have a baby, anyway I have to go check on her."

"Okay. It's fine, I'll be nicer I didn't mean it like that. Tell her I was sorry." Tony replies.

He comes back upstairs and sits on the bed with you, you lay your head on his shoulder, you're crying.

"I'm sorry babe, i don't know what's wrong with me, I just don't feel good. Did you check on Allie?"

"No, I can go check on her, but I think Steve's okay, he can handle her for now."

"Okay."

"You don't have to apologize. I know how upset you get talking about not being able to have a baby, it's okay. I think you just need to breathe, relax, maybe we're too stressed out. Come on let's watch a movie and lay down."

"Okay. Thank you Buck."

After the movie. Steve brought Allie back and Bucky just got finished cleaning her litter box. You can't go near it. Every time you do you throw up.

"Buck, I'm gonna take a bath, I don't have the energy to shower."

"Okay, do you want me to come with you?"

"Yes please."

You take a bath together and mid wash, you get out to throw up. Bucky helps you dry off and puts his sweatshirt on you. You lay back in bed.

"I don't think this is food poisoning." He says.

"I don't think so either. What do you think it is?" You ask.

"I don't know, I can see if Banner can come in and check on you. I really don't know. It's not food poisoning. You're not pregnant. Maybe it's just a virus."

"Can you go get him?"

"Yea of course. I'll be right back." He kisses you and then leaves to get Bruce.

When he comes back he sits on the bed with you while Bruce does an exam.

"You said you're not pregnant, how do you know?" Bruce asks.

"Because we've been trying for so long, and I haven't been able to get pregnant." You answer.

"When was the last time you took a test?"

"Last month."

"Have you had sex since then?" You nod. "Okay well I'll have you take a test to confirm that you're not."

You go into the bathroom and take a test. You're still in there, Bruce and Bucky are talking but you can't hear them.

"So what do you think is wrong?" Bucky asks.

"I honestly think she's pregnant. But I didn't want to tell her that and get her hopes up if I'm wrong. And if she is, then the first trimester is going to be hard. Couples who try to get pregnant and can't and then finally do, often have miscarriages. If she is pregnant she needs to take prenatal vitamins. You can get them at the pharmacy. She'll need ultrasounds, frequently. And she needs to reduce her stress level. We won't tell her about the chances of her losing it."

"Wow, you just laid it all on me at once..." Bucky is speechless. If Bruce is right, he's gonna be a dad. But he also might not. What he's saying is, you could be pregnant. But you could also lose it.
