Chapter 8

I backed towards the wall. He chuckled. "Scared? Listen closely, I won't let you or anybody else have Shun."

He walked up to me and narrowed his eyes. "If you get any closer to Shun..." He punched me in the stomach and I collapsed to the ground.

"I'll do way worse that just that." He whispered in my ear. I coughed a bit while he stood up. "Well I'll leave it at that for now." He laughed as he left the restroom.

I coughed a bit more and this time I coughed up blood. I sat there coughing and coughing. I closed my eyes and layed my head on the wall.

Adam walked in the restroom and yelped. He ran out as soon as he saw me laying there with blood in front of me.

(Shun's POV)

I sat in my seat waiting for Kei to come back. I was worried since Adam just went to the restroom. Just then Adam ran into the room panting.

"Sh...Shun." He sounded out of breath.

"What is it?"

"I...its Kei." My eyes widened as I quickly followed him out of the classroom. I walked in the restroom with him and Kei was up against a wall with blood in front of him.

I ran over to him and kneeled down beside him. "What happened?"

"I don't know. I walked in here and saw him like that." I gritted my teeth. I picked him up and brought him straight to the nurses office.

"Will he be okay?"

"Yes it seems like it but he did suffer a serious injury to his ribs. It might be best if he stayed home for at least a week. As soon as school is over take him straight home."

I nodded and left the nurses office. I sat in class waiting for school to end. I closed my eyes just thinking about how Kei was doing.

What if it happens again? My eyes shot and I could feel my heart pounding. Kei. It hurt to think about him...

(Kei's POV)

In the darkness I saw a small ray of light. It was warm. I could feel their presence in it. They might be gone but I'm not. I have to live on. For Hana.

(Shun's POV)

Finally school was over and I could take Kei home. I got to the buses office and slowly lifted him up.

I walked outside and in the direction of his house. I knew all the shortcuts so people wouldn't get suspicious as to what happened to him.

I got to his house and used the key he gave me to open the door. I went straight to his room and layed him on the bed.

I heard the door opened and looked behind me. Hana walked in the room and sat down.

"What happened?" She narrowed her eyes but they softened after a bit.

"I don't know." I shook my head and immediately put my face in the bed. She patted my back.

"I just d...don't want to go through that again." I was crying and it was very noticeable.

"It probably won't happen."

"You don't know that."

The room fell quiet and for the longest time we didn't talk. I sighed and stood up. "I need to do something or I'll go crazy."

"Same." We send downstairs leaving Kei alone to rest. We ate food and played bored games. Then we played actual RPG games on the PS3 and PS4.

I looked at clock at one point and noticed it was only four o'clock. I groaned and let my head fall to the table.

This. Is. Hell. I can't believe I have to endure this! I stood up quickly and walked to the sink. I splashed water on my face to cool down.

"Are you doing okay?"

"Yeah. I just need to cool down a bit."

"Okay. Well I just checked on Kei and he's still resting." I nodded slowly. "If you want you can go up and sit by him. I'll be with you so you won't get bored."

"Okay." We walked back upstairs and sat right next to Kei for an hour. We talked slightly trying not to wake Kei up.

After about two hours, I was about to fall asleep until I felt a tug on my sleeve. I looked down and Kei was staring straight at me.

"Are you alright?" He stared at me blankly for a few seconds.

"Who are you?"

[Hey guys! Don't worry Kei gets his memory back in a day. So let me explain, Kei has a serious condition where if he gets hit too hard then he looses his memory. Sometimes it comes back and sometimes he looses it forever. In this case he does not loose it forever and I can promise it will be back in the next chapter or the chapter after that. I do not intend to have him loose his memory completely because it will be too hard to write scenes where he's trying to remember. Side note: Nekoco, keep up the good work!
