Chapter 17

(Kei's POV)

I woke up a little later than I wanted to and noticed that Rhyu was still carrying me.

"Are you feeling okay?" Nodding silently, I looked at the ground. "My head hurts really bad though." I replied shortly after. "Can you at least walk on your own?"

"Yeah, if you'll set me down first." I saw annoyance spark in his eyes. "Don't push your luck too much, you damn fragile child."

"Fagile child! What the hell is that supposed to mean!?" He looked back at me, amusement playing on his face. "It's true though. Your waaay too light. Are you even eating? If anyone stronger than me got a hold of you, they'd probably break you into two peices."

My eyes narrowed slightly. "Evey word that comes out of your damn mouth annoys me." He laughed again. "By the way, where are we?" Rhyu stopped laughing. "Your neighborhood. I thought I should bring you straight home."

I stared at him. "How do you know where I live? Are you a stalker?"

"I'm not! Three years ago, you, Shun, and I had a project we needed to work on together. You invited us to your house and for some reason it always stuck with me. Even though it pissed me off." I laughed as he blushed.

"No matter how mean you are, when you blush you look like a child."I stopped laughing when I saw him frown and narrow his eyes. "I'll set you down right here and walk away." I sighed. "Sheesh, your no fun."

"Fun? That's for children."

"Now your calling me a child. Very mature."

"Shut up Kei." As we reached my house he put me down. "I don't think you should come to school tomorrow.
Kuruso might try something again."

"I'll be fine. Beside I have Shun and maybe you to protect me so...yeah."

"Don't go thinking just cause I helped you this one time means I'll help you again." He half glared at me.

"Right right. Says the tsundere tough guy." Rhyu blushed once again, making me giggle. "I'm going." Rhyu angrily turned away.

"Wait Rhyu. Thanks for saving me today." I smiled as he stared at me. "Whatever." He replied shortly and started walking away again.

I ran into my house and went straight to my room, ignoring anyone who called me.

I looked at a picture on my wall and put my clenched hand to my chest. "Shun, I want to see you." So much that it hurts.

I squinted in the dim light while I ruffled my messy hair. "What happened?" I was on the couch with Hana and Ryan standing over me with worried looks.

"Huh? What's wrong?"

"Oh my gosh, are you okay!? We didn't know what to do when we heard a loud thump and saw you passed out!"

"I...passed out? It seems a little fuzzy, so I don't quite remember." Ryan ruffled my hair.

"Don't worry so much. Also you might want to get dressed. School starts in about an hour." Nodding, I sat up and walked to my room.

I slipped on the most comfortable looking outfit, and walked back downstairs to grab my bag. "I'll be off then."

I quickly walked out of my house and walked slowly to school. "Mornings are always so bothersome." I mumbled.

"Keeeeii!" I heard someone call out and turned around. "Shun." Shun walked up throwing his arms around me and squeezing me tight.

He pulled back and leaned down, kissing me gently as he held me. "I was so worried." He buried his face in my shoulder as he trembled.

"I'm alright. Rhyu helped me so everything fine." He sighed. "The thing that bothers me the most is the fact that Rhyu of all people helped you."

He made a pouting face and I giggled. "But knowing that you also looked for me is reassuring. Besides your the only one who would be willing to go as far as tracking down the man and saving me. I still love you a lot more than anyone else in the whole entire world." I kissed Shun on the cheek and smiled as a light blush appeared on my cheeks.

I looked to my right and stared at the park. It brings back so many memories.

**flashback**

I looked around my surroundings in a daze. My mother was gripping my hand tightly and father was holding my other hand tightly. When we reached the park they both let go of my hand. "Kei, don't wander out of the park okay. And make sure I can see you." I nodded as my mother smiled at me gently.

I ran around and played by myself until another boy came. He was about my age but definately taller than me. His father let him go play and he just walked around the playground deciding what to do. I stared at him for a bit before I made up my mind.

"Do you want to play with me?" I suddenly asked as he froze in place. He slightly turned his head and frowned. "Why me? I'm not fun or anything and I'll probably ruin everything."

"That can't be true." I gripped his small hands in mine. "You won't ruin anything. Oh, I'm Kei by the way. Nice to meet you."

The boy smiled slightly. "I'm Shun. Nice to meet you too." He said timidly.

**flashback over**

It's hard to believe that he's that same timid boy. I stared at him before I sighed. I don't get him sometimes.

"Kei?" Shun stared at me confused for a moment. "Nothing. I just...remembered something. That's all."

"If you say so." Shun shrugged before walking again. I ran up by his side and smiled. "Y'know, your a mystery."

"Huh? How so?"

"You used to be so timid and shy but now your all confident and speak you mind whenever you want to." I stared at him in disbelief. He laughed for a second before ruffling my hair. "How can I protect you if I'm shy and timid."

A slight blush appeard on my cheeks and I playfully punched his arm. "Just saying." He winked at me. I sighed and closed my eyes. Only a few more months. I looked at Shun and frowned. I still cant tell him yet.
