Chapter 16

I glared at the ground. "Shun? What's wrong?" Minami stared at me worried. "It's nothing. Please don't worry about it. I'd hate for your health to go down again."

I smiled as sweetly as I could and patted her head. "What about Kei?"

"He's alright." Adam looked over at me and frowned. "Where is he? I wanted to show him that I'm alright."

"Something came up and he had to go. Don't worry. I'm going to get him right now." She nodded her head as Akino grabbed her hand and pulled her away.

"What really happened?" I stared at the ground before sighing and looking at him seriously. "Kuruso. The new guy. He kidnapped Kei. Also Rhyu is also missing. Damn him. I'll make sure to show what happens when he crosses me."

I glared outside. "That bastard." I mumbled under my breath. Adam stared at me as threw curses under my breath. "What are doing? Don't you need to go save Kei?" He grabbed my shoulder's and pushed me out of the school.

"Go find him for us. Akino and I will take care of Minami and I'm sure Rhyu is trying to get Kei back."

"Yeah right. At best he'd just sit there and watch Kei get raped. Remember, he hates Kei. He wouldn't do a damn thing for him."

(Rhyu's POV)

I was growing impatient as I sat in the closet. Of course I was waiting for Kuruso to leave (which he hadn't) so I could grab Kei and get the hell out of here.

But of course Kuruso was not letting Kei out of his sights for one single second. Annoying brat. I glared at him from my space inside the small closet.

"Kuruso, I need help!" A girls voice rang out loudly and Kuruso snapped his head toward the door in annoyance.

"What the hell could you possibly need help with."

"Just come here!" She yelled. He got up and stormed angirly out of the room. I took that chance to sneak out of the closet and grab Kei.

As soon as I got him in a position to where it was easy to carry him, I opened the window and quietly stepped outside.

I walked only a few inches and until it looked like no one could see me, I ran. "Isn't that the guy who you brung here?" I heard a woman's voice and I turned my head.

Kuruso and a girl stood a few feet away. Except Kuruso looked pissed. I kept running and eventually I could hear footsteps behind me.

I peeked behind my shoulder and saw Kuruso running at full speed. Tsk, He never gives up." I ran as fast I could to escape. I couldn't let Kei get taken by him.

(Kei's POV)

I'm moving? I can feel myself shaking. I can feel someone holding me. Is it Shun? No, this guy is a bit more muscular. Kuruso maybe? No, it isn't him either.

Whoever it is, they're strong. But are they even there to save me? Or hurt me?

I opened my eyes but it was hard since they were really heavy. I looked up at the guy who was carrying me. "Rhyu?" I managed to mumble.

He looked down at me and slightly smiled. "Just sleep Kei. I promise you'll be fine." He smiled. Thats the first time I've seen him smile.

My vision slowly got blurry. I started to drift off as the darkness clouded my eyes.

(Rhyu's POV)

Kei tightly held onto my shirt as he fell asleep again. I had already lost Kuruso but I still couldn't stop running. If he caught up, that wouldn't be good.

I looked at Kei and noticed he looked kinda hurt. I frowned. This can't be good. I looked behind me and noticed Kuruso wasn't there.

He couldn't have given up that easily.
I kept running until I was far away enough to stop and rest. I walked into an abandoned alley and sat down with Kei's head on my lap.

"Why must I save this kid?" I mumbled. I looked at him as he shifted. He stirred as he sat up slowly, only to fall back down on my lap.

"Idiot. Don't sit up so fast." He nodded as he rubbed his eyes and silently yawned. "Where am I?"

"An alley. I'm taking a break so just stay there and rest."

"Rhyu?" I looked down at him. "What?" He stared at me before he said, "Why did you save me? Don't you hate me? Didn't you say you were going to hurt me?"

He remembered all that!? I cleched my teeth and looked away. "I'm doing this for Shun. Don't get the wrong idea."

"Then why did you smile back then?" My eyes widened. "Do I need a reason to smile!? Maybe I was just enjoying getting chased by a crazy psychopath!"

"Liar." I want to punch him so bad! "If that was true, you wouldn't have need a rest." I turned towards him angrily and ready to punch him but seeing the look on his face made me stop.

Why are you making that face? His arm was over his eyes as tears slid down. His lips were quivering and his whole body was shaking.

"Kei? Why are crying?" He sniffles and wiped his face. "When I think about the way you torment me and abuse me, I couldn't help it. Seeing you be nice now is hard. I can't handle it."

My eyes widened. He's right. I'm bring way to nice. But I can't help it when I see him like this. Weak, helpless, defenseless. I stared at him and shook my head.

"Honestly, I just didn't want you near Shun. I knew you two were childhood friends and your bond can't be broken but I was really jealous. Then you two got together and that really pissed me off but seeing Shun happy, I couldn't bring myself to do anything about it."

"Do you still hate me?" I looked at him and laughed lightly. "Of course I do. But I guess a few things can be overlooked. You better make Shun happy or I'll never forgive you."

Kei smiled as he nodded. "I promise." A few minutes later he was asleep again and I was no carrying him on my back. "Why the hell are you so light, fragile child?"

There was just a few more blocks before we reached the school but I wasn't headed there. I was going to bring him directly home because of how late it was. Then a thought flashed through my mind. Kuruso, if you try anything like this again...I'll kill you.
