"Gauri, write a short email to my direct staff..." Shivaay instructed. "Write that I have gone through the presentation that they made. After studying the reports and evaluating the market, I have passed a few remarks on it. They need to check and revert."

"Okay!" she hurriedly scribbled it on her notepad. Pushing her hair back, she asked, "Anything else?"

Shivaay tried not to giggle looking at her. Ever since she had taken the decision to join the office, she had been very eager to learn. When she had requested him to let her become his assistant; Shivaay was surprised. But then he had agreed. Gauri would get some experience. Learning from books was way different to learning on site. She had a few hiccups here and there but she seemed to be eager to learn.

"I am not a monster, Gauri!" Shivaay gave in and smiled. "You can relax."

"Okay!" she wrote it down on the paper and repeated. "Not a monster. You can relax."

This time around, Shivaay burst out laughing. "Gauri! What the hell?"

Seeing him laugh, Gauri saw what she had written on the notepad. Embarrassed, she nervously chuckled. "I am sorry, I will send the email."

With that, she dashed out of the cabin. Shivaay saw her go and his face softened. He was glad that he was doing this. Someone from their home needed to know about the business. He honestly had no idea how long was he going to last.

He got up and moved towards the window. From there, Mumbai looked so vast. The Oberoi Industries' building was so tall, that it was casting a shadow on the smaller buildings below. He loved it. It made him feel so powerful.

Yet, the same thought filled him with dread. This vastness was scary. In the larger scheme of things, this was of no help. Who knew it better than him?

Sighing, he sat on the couch. He still had to tell Annika about it. Heavens knew how she was going to react. Feeling a little stressed out, Shivaay rested his head on the couch and closed his eyes.

The door of his cabin banged open and almost all the office employees dashed in. In a few milliseconds, the room was filled up to impossible capacity. Shivaay's heart skipped a beat. His eyes flew open and bit back a scream with his hand firmly holding his chest.

"No!" a man yelled and held him in place. "Don't move!"

Another man put a stethoscope on his chest and Shivaay shrieked, "What the hell are you doing?"

"He is alive!" the first man screamed and a loud cheer went in the cabin.

Bewildered with the turn of events, Shivaay looked around. The faces of all his relieved employees stared back at him. He then saw Shakti run towards him. He only stopped in front of Shivaay and cupped his face. "Are you alright? What happened?"

Shivaay was surprised to see Shakti's eyes a little moist. "What happened? That is my question too!"

Out of nowhere, everyone started to laugh. Mishra said, "Sir, it's not April anymore. You are too late for an April fool's joke."

Shivaay stared at him. An elderly woman who was one of their oldest employees piped up. "Oh, Shivaay won't go before killing us all."

The comment made Shakti laugh as well. Shivaay was more confused. He had just closed his eyes for one second and suddenly, somehow, it had turned into a medical emergency. He didn't get it.

"Will anyone tell me what happened?" Shivaay demanded.

"Sir!" Mishra spoke. "We received an email from your ID saying that you have passed away in the cabin, so we need to check it."

For a few seconds, Shivaay only processed what Mishra had said. Then he looked around the room. He realized what exactly had happened. At the top of his voice, he screamed, "GAURI!"

*************************

I am very bored and so I wrote it.

@Shivikabest   wants me to write this. Since I am a huge sucker for all things related to medicine, medical, I couldn't stop myself. I don't want to make it obvious and down the same boring ghisa peeta route. It will be very different.

Now, I will not update this frequently. It might come once a month, or week, or maybe twice a day too if I am in the mood. No guarantee.

Anyway who is way too attached to the show's characters and their characteristics, please leave right now. It won't be anything like that. And then, I don't want to receive essays saying how "cruel and harsh I am to Shivaay and Annika". It's going to sad. It's going to be dark. It will be angsty. Please stay away if you cannot handle it.
