Assessment test(2).

"Hey, don't sound so disappointed now!" Teacher Loupe says while laughing hard. "Don't worry, we won't be using something as boring as a measuring orb, those are boring." he said while nodding his head proudly.

"And so! We'll be using this!" Teacher Loupe makes a cube that's about the size of a standing mirror with his earth magic. Since I've already experienced this before, I know exactly what that cube is. It's a magic absorbing stone formed into a cube.

What's a magic absorbing stone? It's a type of rare stone the nullifies magic, absorbs it rather. It can't absorb absurd amounts of magic, if it could that would tip the balance of the world.

"Yes, this! A magic absorbing stone, I'll make it as simple as possible. Just hit the stone with magic as hard as you can. I'll explain a little bit about the magic stone, if you hit it and your magic is low tier it would turn green, it would turn blue if it was mid tier, then lastly red if it was high tier. But, if your magic is very low it'll retain it's color which is black." He explains briefly.

"We'll be starting with the girls first." Teacher Loupe said. I wonder if he'll bring out his small twist again.

"But! Since it's always in alphabetical order when we call classes, let's do the opposite and start from the last up till the first." First means... Sophia.

"Yes, I'll do my best!" she shouts out pumping herself up. I observe her carefully, underestimating her would be stupid when I don't know my own limitations now.

Oh, and by the way there's a reason why Sophia was called a saintess before, it's because...

"Light of the world, heed my call! Spear of judgement!" as soon as she said that, a bright spear appeared behind her. It's details were beautiful, elegant and most of all enlightening. This is Sophia Labelle, the kingdom's first light magic user.

The spear of light hit the stone with immense force as if it was going to break it, it did not. What it did do was turn the part of the stone she hit a bright red, a really good sign for her and a bad sign for me.

"Ohhh, very impressive, Miss Labelle! As expected of the kingdom's first light magic user." Teacher Loupe says while clapping his hands.

Altough I'm not the one with a guaranteed loss, that was Lady Catherine. How could I boost Lady Catherine at least a few notches... Ah, I know.

After a few minutes the other girls attempted the assessment test, though most of them had mid tier magic and some even low tier. Laura was a mid tier magic user by the way.

It was finally Lady Catherine's turn. There she stood with a gallant figure, confident that she would come out on top.

"Lady Catherine! Do your best!" I cheered out, then her head quickly snapped back to look at me, she was blushing, embarrassed. On another note, is your neck okay?

"Commoner! Be quiet! I do not need encouragement from the likes of you." she says with fumes coming out of her head. Ah, how cute!

Though, hopefully this plan worked. To put it simply, the plan was to irritate Lady Catherine. Why? Because her magic is fire. A magic the comes from ones emotion, the stronger your emotions, the stronger the flame. A magic fit for someone as honest as Lady Catherine, Quite the tsundere isn't she? Wait, tsundere? What's that?

While I was contemplating what the meaning of the word I just said. Lady Catherine summoned a spear made out of flame, which was much more refined than the spears she made earlier in her explanations. The flame was bright and pretty to look at and the form of the spear was beautiful as expected.

And so, she launched the spear with immense speed and power. Then it collided with the stone, a huge explosion was made. When the smoke cleared it showed the magic stone with a small dent in the middle where Lady Catherine hit her spear. I'm confident enough to say that Lady Catherine beat Sophia here.

"Amazing!! Lady Catherine, that was a wonderful spear just now!" Teacher Loupe says with his eyes sparkling.

Then she turned to look at me once more with a smug look on her face, as if saying "This is the difference between the two of us!".

Ah, right, even though Lady Catherine beat Sophia, the bet I waged was for me to beat Lady Catherine. Uwah, I'm getting nervous.

After a few more girls did the assessment it was finally my turn. Altough everyone used a ranged type of magic, it wasn't really said the we can only use ranged type of magic.

"Aya Beaulieu, you're up next." Teacher Loupe says as he fixed the magic stone, though he didn't really need to that since no one was even close to denting it like Lady Catherine, he still did, I wonder why.

"Yes, thank you." I looked back at Lady Catherine who was watching me, I did a little peace sign at her. She furrowed her eyebrows as if saying "Stop that, don't make signs at me as if we are friends, commoner." or so it would seem.

"Ready when you are." Teacher Loupe says while standing back with his hand on his chin.

I took a deep breath and walked forward in front of the stone. When I glanced at Teacher Loupe he was grinning as if waiting on what I was gonna do.

Since I don't really have powerful magic, nor do I have flashy magic like Sophia. I have to rely on technique, or the "Tricks" I told Lady Catherine.

I took my stance and summoned a katana made out of wind magic. It was a surprise that I could even summon it, though I didn't want to take chances and just stand there in awe at myself. With practiced movement in my head and an inexperienced body, I slashed the top left corner of the cube.

Boring, I know, especially after the explosive power that Lady Catherine and Sophia showed. But of course, boring or not, results are what matter. And in my defense, my fighting style is meant for killing monsters not demonstrations. Could you even call me a magician? Ehhhhh, thin line, but as long I can use magic, technically I am one.

When my blade hit the cube's corner it oddly felt harder than what I expected, though, nonetheless, I still managed to get my blade through and cut a small chunk of the corner off. This all happened in a fraction of a second, so I doubt that the other students even got what I did.

I waited for Teacher Loupe who was just there with a confused look on his face. Then I looked at the color of the part of the cube I sliced off, Green. Also known as, low tier. Right now, I'm a low tier magician, huh. Which is normal I guess, since I really was a low tier during my academy days.

"This... Is certainly unexpected. Well, anyway, good job everyone! Results would be posted tomorrow, so rest up!"

And with that, my first day of being in the academy again has ended. Let's just hope that this little stunt would be enough for me to beat Lady Catherine.
