Getting to know you.

"-ke up!" a voice says, pulling me out of my sleep.

"Mmm..." opening my eyes, I saw a familiar silhouette. Lady Catherine's blonde hair, and deep blue eyes looking down at me were what I saw. It was something straight out of a painting.

I must be dreaming, right? Yeah, this is definitely a dream, no way Lady Catherine is visiting my room, in the commoner's sleeping quarters at that.

"Lady... Catherine..." my arms moved on their own as I proceeded to hug and pull her into bed.

"Kyahh!?" I snuggled myself into Lady Catherine, it was a familiar warmth that she had when we slept together in her room. I felt myself drifting back to sleep.

Wait, warm?

I forced my eyes to open, only to see Lady Catherine with a blushing face, staring right back at me with her deep blue eyes.

"A-are you finally awake?" Lady Catherine said as she put a hand on my cheek, then she pinched it, my cheek that is.

"Yesh..." I said, my words sounding weird because Lady Catherine was still pinching me.

"Honestly, you are such a handful! Let us go to the cafeteria for breakfast already! I am feeling hungry." and with that, Lady Catherine stood up and fixed her hair and uniform that got a bit messed up because of me.

"Sure~! Just let me put on my uniform first." I said as I took my uniform that was hanged on the wall with a hanger. Then placed it on the bed.

As I was about to take of my top that I slept in, I felt gazes on me.

"Lady Catherine, you perv, if you want to ogle me you just have to ask." I said in a teasing tone.

"W-w-what kind of nonsense are you talking about!? I was not looking at you in such a way!"

"Oh, so you don't deny that you were looking?"

"T-that is... Hmph! Geez! Muffin head! I will leave you on your own then! Hmph!" Lady Catherine said as she exited the room quickly.

Wait, did she just call me a muffin head? And did she say "Hmph" twice? What the heck, that's cute. Like, super cute.

"Wait for me~!" I said as I basically threw my pajamas on to my bed, and quickly changed into my uniform.

Exiting my room, there, Lady Catherine was leaning against the wall next to my door.

"Oh! Lady Catherine you're still here!" though, I half expected that.

"Hmph, You are done changing? Then, let us go."

"Okay~!"

As I stood beside Lady Catherine, we held hands as if it were the most natural thing in the world. I have no idea when this became a normal thing, it just kind of happened. I have absolutely no complaints though.

Arriving at the cafeteria, it was busy with students just like the one in the academy.

"Lady Catherine, I'll order my food first then, shall we sit where Carol is?"

"Carol is doing something right now, she told me that she could not prepare food for me today. So, I am eating in the cafeteria."

"Oh? Then, let's go fall in line."

As we fell in line, all eyes were immediately on Lady Catherine. But as usual, she paid it no mind. She was probably used to this kind of attention.

After that, it was finally our turn to order. Though, I already knew what I wanted to order.

"Lady Catherine, have you decided on what you want?"

"I'll... Order after you, so just order."

"Hm? But wouldn't it be faster to jus-"

"It would be faster if you ordered already!" Lady Catherine said aloud, making people turn their heads.

"Sure~!" I said, as I faced the lady behind the counter.

"One chicken sandwich and mushroom soup please!"

"Right up!" the lady quickly gave me a chicken sandwich and a bowl of mushroom soup placed on a tray.

After that, I exited the line and waited for Lady Catherine.

And after a while, she was also holding a tray, the contents were the same as mine. A chicken sandwich and mushroom soup.

"Lady Catherine, you got the same thing?"

"Y-yes, now, let us find a table. Come on."

After finding a table, we both sat down and started to eat.

I noticed while eating that Lady Catherine was a bit fidgety.

"Lady Catherine, what's wrong?"

"S-say, commoner, what kind of food do you like?" Lady Catherine asks out of the blue.

"Hm? I like almost anything, though, my favorite food is this." I raise up the chicken sandwich that I was holding.

"Hmm. So chicken sandwiches, huh... I have to tell Carol..." Lady Catherine whispers something softly into thin air, though, I couldn't quite hear it.

"I heard you say almost, what is it you do not like?" Lady Catherine asks as she picks up her sandwich.

"Gehh!? W-why are you asking?" I accidentally let out a surprised expression.

Noticing this, Lady Catherine proceeds to press me more on the topic.

"Oh? You told me the things you like earlier, so why are you hesitant to tell me the things you dislike?" Lady Catherine asks with a hand on her cheek while leaning on it against table, she had a mischievous smirk on her face, might I add.

"Tomatoes..."

"Hm? What was that? I could not quiet hear you over the noise in this cafeteria."

"Guh... Tomatoes! I don't like tomatoes!"

"Pft!"

"Don't laugh! I know it's childish too!"

Man... That was embarrassing... I would choose a tomato over monster meat but only as a last resort...

"N-no, no! Pft! E-everybody has something they dislike. F-fufu..." she says as she tries to hold back her laughter.

I did get teased, but to see Lady Catherine laugh like this makes it way more worth it. Savoring this moment, my eyes were just glued to the laughing noble.
