It's a nice day outside today, although it's getting a bit dark out, as I walk home from work. Thinking that Y/N's probably done with school by now, I give her a call. The phone rings for a while until I'm left with a voicemail.
I guess she is still in class... or around those other villains. She shouldn't answer the phone if she is.
I continue to make my way home and round the corner when I see someone slumped over on my porch. Upon moving closer, I notice that it's Y/N's body sitting there.
That's weird. How come she's right there, but couldn't answer the phone?
When I'm only a couple of meters away, I notice that it looks as if she's passed out. I kneel down and rub her leg, asking her if she's okay. Y/N looks up at me sleepily and nods. She then tiredly wraps her arms around my neck and greets me. I slide my arms around her body and carry her into the house, knowing that there's something wrong with her.
Inside, I sit her down on the couch and ask her if she's okay. Once again she nods, but this time adds that she's just tired.
"How come you didn't answer my call?" I ask, worried that there's something more going on than what I see.
"Sorry," she apologizes without giving me an answer.
She then looks over at me and begins to analyze my hero costume. "You always look good in that," she smiles.
Y/N has never seen me in my hero costume before...
I narrow my eyes and begin to inspect the girl before me. I conclude that it's Toga, not Y/N, who stands before me. I yell at myself internally over the fact that I was right not to trust Toga.
I push Toga away and, as soon as I do, her eyes darken while she observes me. Toga then stands up, removing her whole fake-being-tired act.
"Why the hell are you here?!"
"Oh," she giggles, "I just wanted to make sure you were ready."
"The fuck is that supposed to mean?"
Toga begins using Y/N's quirk to lift objects into the air after once again avoiding my question. She throws a chair in my direction as she backs up to the other side of the room. Thankfully, the chair is wooden and I can easily burn it to dust. I then run towards Toga, sparring with her as she continues to use Y/N's quirk.
"Keep going," I threaten her, "and I'll fry your ass!"
"I hope you do," she hums as she continues to jump around my room.
I notice that Toga is only defending herself now, not attacking me in any way. It almost seems as though she's attempting to analyze my moves.
"I'm impressed," she smiles as she stops moving.
I stand still as well, confused by what her goal is here with me. I begin to ask her what her deal is when suddenly, she's gone. I spin around, but Toga is no longer in the room. I sit down, trying to catch my breath and figure out what the hell just happened.
What did she mean that she was here to make sure I was ready... and what the fuck was she impressed about!?
Confused, I decide to call Kirishima for some help seeing as he's the only one who can hold a proper conversation with me without saying dumb shit about Y/N.
"Bakugou? Everything okay?" Kirishima asks from over the phone.
"I just... need your input on something, alright?"
"Sure. I'll call the others and we can meet over in a few minutes."
I roll my eyes. I didn't want to get those damn extras involved but I suppose more input is better. Besides, I can deal with their annoying jokes if it's to help Y/N.
"Okay," I say before hanging up.
My friends are knocking at my door before I barely have enough time to change into some regular clothes. They all pile in quickly and wait for me to update them on what's going on. I begin by telling them that Toga was just here pulling her stupid stunt.
"Her quirk is creepy," Kaminari shivers, "I sure hope she never gets any of my blood."
"Mhm," Mina hums, "but if you ask me, I think Toga was trying to help Bakugou. Although... I can't really figure out why."
Sero, Kirishima, and Jirou all nod in agreement.
"Any of you guys heard from Y/N at all today or last night?" I ask hopefully. "I haven't seen her since last night."
"Last night, huh?" Kaminari wiggles his eyebrows and ends up with a pillow thrown onto his face, courtesy of me. "Ouch... I mean no. I haven't heard from her or Yoruko."
Once again, the others agree and share the same intel.
"We should spread out and begin looking for them," Kirishima chimes in.
"No," I say sternly, "I know exactly where she is. Asakusa in that building those villains told her about."
"L-Let's not jump to conclusions," Mina says worriedly, "It would be horrible if she actually is there."
Sero nods. "But it would make sense. Perhaps they told her that location because they knew she'd tell the rest of us."
"How do we know that Y/N isn't just at home?" Jirou adds.
"That's right!" Mina gasps, "Maybe she just had a long day at school!"
"You two," Jirou says as she points to me and Kirishima, "should both go check Y/N's house and see if she's there."
I look over at Kirishima who nods assuringly back at me. The two of us stand up and tell the rest of the group that we'll go.
"Be prepared for the worst-case scenario," Kirishima tells the others, "and we'll update you as soon as we know anything."
"Right!" Kaminari tries to say bravely, "Be safe you guys!"
Mina hops up and throws her arms around Kirishima, wishing him good luck and to be safe. I furrow my eyebrows at the weird interaction. I know the two of them are close and have known each other since before high school, but I didn't know they were that close...
