Y/N was surprised how quickly the time went by since she had started working at the tea house. Shouta had been right, it wasn't always as busy as on her first day. But it wasn't as quiet and desolate as he had always said. There were people coming by. Sure, maybe there were only one or two at a time, but they usually were coming in consistently. Y/N could see how this would become too much for a single person to handle - especially someone like Shouta.
From what she had seen he seemed to be a rather solitary kind of person. Didn't talk more than necessary, preferred the quiet over anything else. But Y/N noticed how much attention he paid to every little thing he did. He did everything with so much precision and thought behind it.
That and how calm he was in general - Y/N liked it. It was like it gave her some sense of security, some sort of inner peace. Maybe it wasn't the atmosphere in the teahouse, but Shouta who made her feel so calm and at ease. Well, it didn't really matter. Y/N was glad to be working here and she would do her best to keep this job, even though she could already feel that emptiness inside her spreading again. She had no idea how to stop it, but she had to try, didn't she?
Anyway, she had more pressing matters to worry about at the moment. She would have to leave her apartment soon, because she had ended the lease. She had never thought that she'd still be alive at this point in time, so it seemed like the most reasonable thing to do at the time. But now... well, now she was still alive and she had a job and she needed to live somewhere.
And she had absolutely no time to be looking for apartments right now. This job was taking a lot out of her. The hours were long and she needed her sleep in the morning. She simply didn't have any time to take care of something as exhausting as finding a new apartment. And she had about a week left, before she had to move out. It was gnawing at her mind constantly.
Not even the atmosphere in the teahouse could really distract her. She had almost spilled tea twice today and she was usually very careful. She had seen the kinds of tea that Shouta was serving and they were expensive tea blends. Y/N couldn't imagine ever actually buying them herself.
But that was even more reason for her to be focussed while she was working. She was getting used to being on her feet for so long and she found it relaxing to follow more stringent social rules when it came to interacting with guests, so all that was good. But it also made it easier for her to become distracted. And right now that wasn't such a great idea, if she was being honest.
Well, it didn't matter anyway. She was almost done with her work for today. She had already started washing up the teacups that had started piling up on the counter while Shouta was in the back doing the bookkeeping for the week. Y/N didn't expect any more guests today, but then she was surprised by the sound of the door opening. She looked up from her work, brushing that annoying strand of hair that kept falling out of her tight bun behind her ear quickly.
The man that had just come in was tall and thin and he had long blond hair, tied up in a ponytail. He was wearing glasses and he seemed to know this place pretty well. Was he a regular that Y/N hadn't met yet? He looked up towards the counter with a big grin, that turned into a surprised smile when he saw her.
