It was a busier day than usual, busier than it had been in a long time, and Shouta and Y/N were really noticing the difference. Shouta had no idea why people had suddenly decided to stop by here more often. It was strange, but Shouta wasn't going to complain. If this development stayed the way it was, then maybe he could start paying Y/N more. She definitely deserved it.
Considering everything she was doing around the teahouse, she already deserved a raise, but she was also taking care of the garden and she seemed to be making good progress with that. They had planted the cherry trees about a week ago and she was done with cutting all the grass and getting the place cleaned up. All that was missing now were some decorations.
Y/N had really outdone herself with the garden and Shouta had no idea how she had managed to get it all done so quickly. Then again, he had always been busy doing paperwork inside while she was working outside in the garden. Plus, the days were getting longer, so she had more time to get things done if they closed early. Or when she was working in the mornings.
Shouta honestly didn't know where she got the energy from to work so tirelessly. She got up early and started working in the garden, then she took a shower before they opened and still managed to look absolutely perfect and pristine by the time she was starting her shift. And she was really pulling her weight around the teahouse, too. Honestly, Shouta wasn't working as much on a good day as she did on a bad day. And she hadn't even been complaining once.
Shouta felt kind of bad that he hadn't given her a day off yet. He really should be doing that soon, because it wasn't fair that she was working this much. She hadn't even asked for a day off, but she was probably doing that to avoid looking like she was being lazy or unreliable. Which was absolute bullshit, of course, but if she worked for a bigger corporation for any amount of time before the teahouse, then she'd probably be very familiar with that mindset.
He sighed and headed back out into the guest room. He had been taking enough of a break as it was and with how busy it was, Y/N could use some help. He was about to turn around the corner, when he suddenly collided with something on his way. Or rather someone. Y/N, of course.
Shouta instinctively grabbed onto her arms to keep her from falling. He looked down at her while none of them moved for a moment. She still seemed a little surprised that he had been just around the corner, but Shouta was glad that he was getting a closer look at her, noticing once again just how beautiful she was. (H/c), silky hair, that one strand of hair that kept falling out of place, big, (e/c) eyes... everything about her was beautiful, or at least Shouta thought so.
"Oh, sorry, I... I didn't see you..." she said and chuckled nervously, as they both snapped back to reality. Shouta let go of her, making sure she wasn't going to fall and Y/N was trying to adjust her kimono, even though there really wasn't any need for it. Somehow the whole situation felt kind of awkward now. Shouta wondered whether they might have paused for too long.
"No, no, no, I'm sorry. Are you okay?" Shouta wanted to know. Y/N smiled at him and nodded quickly.
"Yeah, I think so, I was just about to see where you were, because we need more of the Silver Tips Imperial. Do we have any more of that?" she asked. Shouta was thinking for a second and then shook his head.
