Raquel woke from a night of deep sleep to the sound of an alarm. Half-conscious, she wriggled her arm free and slapped at her bedside table, searching for the clock as its relentless ring burrowed into her brain. Her knuckles knocked against something hot, unfamiliar, something which stained like water, and it jerked her more fully awake.
Consciousness crept over her, confusion coming with it. The smell of eggs and pancakes flew up her nostrils
"Good morning!" Charlotte said while bringing a tray in her room
"Char?" She forced her eyes to open "what are you doing here?"
"Oh I let my self in, I saw that you were sleeping so I told Sarg you weren't feeling good today so he let you go for today, and I am out for a while so" then she remembered the actions of the night before,
"Wait where are my sisters?"
"Oh they said they were going to church"
"On a Wednesday?" Then remembered what church they were going to, the institute
"Yeah I thought the same, but I don't know maybe confess their sins" ironic huh
She laughed "yeah"

"Hey kid, how are you doing here?" Raquel greeted the 14 year old girl
"Good, guess what, I just got a new phone, look!" Eva showed off her new phone
"Antonio got you the new phone huh" she giggled
"Remember what I said, if I saw any boys calling from that phone I will not hesitate to bring it back to the shop" warned Antonio while handing Raquel her coffee
"Thanks Dawson, well you know you could call any guy from my phone if you'd like" she whispered the last part to Eva
"Oh now I would definitely stop dropping her off at your house for babysitting" Antonio said
"Oh come on she's a teenager"
"Yeah don't remind me" he said
"Hey Langford" Sarg Blake gestured for her to come over "a word please", she sighs knowing this won't go well. He opens his office door for her to enter
"Look about the other night-" he starts but Raquel cuts him off
"Don't, it's fine really- I get you wanted her safe that's what fathers are for and I am sorry for not listening to-" he cuts her off by giving her a hug, she was caught off guard at first but then accepted it
"I am your father as much as I am hers"
A tear escaped its nest, she lets go of the hug to look at him, she stares at him to see if he is joking, Raquel did see him as an amazing father figure as well but never did she thought that he saw her as a daughter
