Hotch POV
I close the file as I hear a small knock on my door. I get up from my bed and open the door to see Abigail standing there, in a sports bra and very short shorts. "Uh, Abigail, is there something wrong?" I ask. She sighs, running her hands through her hair.
"Um, you know what? It's nothing," She says quickly and goes to walk away.
"I know something's wrong so you might as well tell me," I say simply. She huffs before walking into the room. She sits on one of the chairs in the room and I sit on the edge of my bed. She bounces her leg up and down, something she does when she's anxious or overstimulated. It's rarely the anxiety but I guess it comes with the job. "Abigail,"
She zones back in and looks at me. I nod for her to go on. "Right um. So I just got a call from someone from prison. We used to be 'friends' I guess. I didn't know he got out of prison. His name is Danny Jenkins. He's dangerous and he said he's looking for me and he's coming after me, or so he says. I'm telling you this because I know that I have to tell someone and because you're my boss," She rambles. What did this guy do to her? Abigail isn't one to ramble. "Danny is obsessed with me. Danny used to be nice but now doesn't care if he hurts me to show me he loves me,"
"So do you want a bodyguard or protection?" I ask, despite knowing she'll say no.
"Absolutely not. We both know I can take care of myself. I just wanted you to be aware of the situation. Just in case something was to happen to me--"
"Nothing's gonna happen to you Abigail," I reassure.
"You don't know how Danny is. If he wants something he'll take it. He doesn't care who gets in his way," I nod in understanding. Abigail's past is a maze of trouble and trauma. This is one of the reasons I pair her up with people who can keep her in check. Rossi, myself, Morgan. She respects all of us but will only listen to authoritative figures. Her protection is gonna take top priority once we're back at Quantico.
Abigail POV
Let's just say being woken up early because another dead body was found, isn't as fun as you think it is. We all roll up to the crime scene, Detective Lopez already being there. "What do we got?" Hotch asks.
"Male, same age range, and we found Luvet's badge about half a block from here," She informs, handing the baggy with the badge in it to Hotch.
"So the UnSub either ditched it or dropped it when he was getting away," Derek suggests. "Any sign of Luvet's gun?"
"No, he may be holding onto that," Lopez states.
"Why would he kill out in the open like this?" Spencer asks.
"He's losing control emotionally, he could be devolving," Hotch offers.
"But leaving the body out in plain sight, it's off pattern," I politely point out.
