I get set up in front of a map with Emily, Reid and Detective Cooper, while JJ, Rossi, Derek, and Detective Brustin check out the crime scene. "We're going to need records over the last six months for any arrests on gun violence or gun possession, in every borough except the ones where the shootings have taken place," Reid explains as he marks a small circle on the board.
"I don't get it," Cooper says, still seeming to be confused.
"He won't strike near where he lives,"
"What makes you so sure?"
"It's anti-geographical profiling," Emily explains.
"Now it's anti-geographical profiling? Come on. Now you wonder why we're so skeptical,"
"This UnSub's organized. He strikes at the same time of day," I pipe in, leaning off the table.
"He knows where the cameras are placed. That means he's doing his own pre-surveillance," Emily adds. Both of us usually bounce ideas off one another or explain things, bouncing between the two of us.
"A need-motivated killer operates within' his own comfort zone," Reid continues, gesturing to the map. "An organized killer with some other motivation would make sure to strike outside that zone,"
"Not where he lives," Cooper says, finally grasping what we're explaining.
"Exactly. Unfortunately, that means that every other neighbourhood in the city has a reason to be terrified,"
"Yup," I mutter as I stare at the map.
"What have we got?" Hotch asks as he walks into the office. Another shooting occurred and he, Rossi, Derek, Kate, Cooper, and Brustin went to check it out.
"This is the latest shooting," Emily says as we watch the clip.
"This is the previous murder," We all watch a secondary clip. "Notice anything weird?" I ask as I lean against the desk, my arms folded over my chest.
"He sprints off in one and walks calmly in the other," Derek points out. "It's two entirely different demeanours,"
"Six kills in, his behaviour should be set," Rossi adds.
"Look at this," Spencer leans forward slightly. "Garcia, you still there?"
"Would I ever leave you?" She asks. I can almost hear the smirk on her face.
"Okay, check it out," We watch the screen begin to change. "I did a digital perspective analysis rendering on the shootings where we have footage. Now the first two were inconclusive but the last two, I found something weird about it, tres weird. Your calm, walking type, he is about 6'1. But your sprinter, he's like 5'9, 5'10 tops,"
"We've got more than one UnSub,"
"Lovely," I say dryly, my head hanging for a couple seconds before I look back up at the screen, brushing my hair out of my face as I do so.
