The next day, everyone was talking about the events from the match. Before, there were some people who didn't believe that Voldemort was coming back and thought that Lyssie's dad's death had to be an accident. Now, it seemed that there wasn't a single person who had any objections to whether it was true or not. Everyone talked about it and Lyssie had to listen to lots of questions from other students. She decided to ignore them, however, as it seemed to be the best policy at the moment.
Dumbledore decided to address the situation only during the dinner. He didn't come to breakfast or lunch and everyone gossiped about what he might be doing. When dinner time came and everyone sat down on their usual places, Dumbledore walked into the Great Hall and sat down at the table. He didn't say anything, even though all students wanted him to address the events so badly.
"My dears," he said when everyone finished their food. He stood in the front so that all students could see him clearly. "I am aware that the events from yesterday's Quidditch match might have been traumatic for some of you." He looked straight to the Slytherin's table when he was saying that. "But I want you to know that the situation is stable. I, along with other teachers, will make sure that you are safe at Hogwarts."
"The exact same thing he said in September and now what?" Pansy whispered.
"I made sure that the dementors are back at the Azkaban," Dumbledore continued. "I also want to be completely transparent with you."
"Since when?" Pansy whispered again. Lyssie shooshed her and she crossed her arms on her chest offended.
"We do not know where Voldemort is right now." The crowd gasped. "But what we can be sure about is that the Ministry is looking for him." Some students sighed, probably thinking that the Ministry cannot do much about the situation. "The school is protected and the only way Voldemort could get here yesterday is through finding their supporters inside the castle."
Lyssie looked at Draco frightened. Students were already talking about them behind their backs and now, Dumbledore was suggesting that they let Voldemort inside. She could feel people looking at her.
"I am sure, however," the headteacher continued, focusing the student's attention back at him. "That they are not at fault here. If I hear someone gossiping or accusing anybody about anything, there will be serious consequences. Now, I want you all to focus on studying and do not worry about Lord Voldemort. He will not come back to this school. I can guarantee that."
"How is that so?" Pansy whispered a little bit too loud.
"I can see that you're worried, Miss Parkinson," Dumbledore said. "But you all need to trust me and other teachers. The situation is under control and there is no need to worry about that. Let me repeat myself: you are all safe here and Voldemort will be caught by the Ministry soon."
Having said this, Dumbledore sat down to finish his drink, and the students started slowly leaving the Great Hall to go about their usual activities.
Lyssie got up as well and told her friends that she will go take a shower now. She walked towards the door but was stopped by Fred.
"Lyss, are you okay?" he asked and held her hand. "You haven't spoken to me since the match."
"Yes, I guess I'm as okay as I can be," she answered. "Can we talk later? I really need a shower." She smiled at him saying that.
"What do you think about a night sail at the lake?" he proposed.
"I don't think I need any more trouble," she replied hesitantly. "I'd love to, don't get me wrong, but it's not a good idea right now."
Fred frowned.
"Yeah, you're right," he agreed.
"I'll see you later."
