The end of the school year wasn't something Lyssie anticipated. Even though a lot of horrifying events took place this year, she loved being at Hogwarts. It was a revolutionary year for her and if she could, she would thank her father for finally letting her go to school. On the morning of that day, a lot of thoughts occupied her mind and there wasn't anyone she could share them with. She decided to write a letter to her father, even though she knew, that he would never be able to read it.

She took a big piece of parchment and wrote:

Dear Dad,

The school year at Hogwarts is over. Everyone is about to go home now, and I wish I could do the same. I still can't believe you're not here anymore, but I promise to take revenge. Voldemort will regret everything he's done.

She stopped for a second, because she felt tears coming to her eyes. She shouldn't write the letter on such a negative note. Lyssie thought for a second and resumed writing.

This year was wonderful. It was both the best and the worst year of my life. When you first drove me to the platform, I had no idea how many amazing and horrible things are going to happen to me.

First, you disappeared, and I thought that my life was also over. But then, all the wonderful people I met here helped me come back to life. I met Fred here, I told you already in my last letter. He finishes school now, but we'll keep in touch. He promised me that.

I have a lot of great friends here. You would be happy to meet them all, I promise! The teachers are amazing too. I'm learning a lot. You would be proud, I know that. We had the OWLs recently, and I'll get the results during the holidays. I'll make sure to let you know how it went. I can't wait to come back to Hogwarts next year.

I'm sure we'll meet again someday.

I love you forever,

Lyssie

She put the quill down and rolled the paper. She didn't intent to send it anywhere, but that's just what you did with letters. She put it at the bottom of her trunk and started packing her things.

Later that day, they had their last meal that year. Everyone gathered in the Great Hall and sat on their usual places. Lyssie took the spot between Draco and Blaise and poured herself some pumpkin juice. Only now she noticed how much she liked this drink. She didn't know any shops she could buy it in, though.

"Excited to go home?" Blaise asked.

"You don't even know," Draco answered.

Then, Dumbledore came up to the front and started his usual speech.

"This year was difficult for us all, but I hope we can learn something from it," he started. "For example, not to give Amortentia to your ninety-year-old neighbor. Can anyone confirm it?"

Everyone laughed.

"But on a more serious note," Dumbledore continued. "I think it's the time to announce the winner of the House Cup."

Lyssie completely forgot about that. In all the events that took place this year, it seemed that a lot of students forgot about the House Cup. Now, everyone started whispering lively. Dumbledore cleared his throat.

"Ravenclaw, with four hundred twenty points, is on the fourth spot." They heard a loud moan from the Ravenclaws' table. "Next, with five hundred twenty-five points, Hufflepuff on the third place." Hufflepuffs applauded, along with some of their friends from other houses.

"Moment of truth," Pansy whispered.

"With six hundred and five points," Dumbledore said slowly. "On the second place... Gryffindor!"

There was a loud applause with some moans coming from the Gryffindors' table.

"That's rubbish!" Lyssie heard Fred and George yell.

"And finally," Dumbledore ignored their comment. "With six hundred and fifty points, Slytherin!"

The whole room applauded, with the biggest noise coming from the Slytherins' table. Some of the students even stood up and screamed loudly. Lyssie noticed Fred smiling at her and giving her thumbs up from across the room.

"That's the first time in 6 years!" Draco said enthusiastically. Lyssie has never seen him so happy before. "Last time, he gave Potter some extra points for nothing and they won!"

After dinner, everybody went for their trunks and, similarly to the situation before Christmas, they put them right next to the front door. Lyssie and Draco waited for Crabb and Goyle to finish eating and join them in the entry hall. Actually, Lyssie just kept Malfoy company and actually was looking for Fred to say goodbye. After a couple of minutes, Draco started to be impatient, but Lyssie noticed two read heads in the crowd.

"Fred!" she called him, and he immediately turned towards her and smiled.

"I'll miss you so much!" he said and squeezed her in a big hug.

"Me too!" George said and hugged them both.

They stood like that for a good minute, when George noticed that he was a third wheel and they all moved away from each other.

"Are you sure you don't want to spend the holidays with us?" Fred asked.

"I wish," she replied. "But Mr. Malfoy insisted on me living with them for now. They have a room ready and everything. I couldn't say no, sorry."

Fred shook his head.

"Don't bother," he said. "I know where he lives. We're get you out of there."

He winked at her and she laughed.

"Lyssie, we should go." They didn't even notice when Draco came up to them. "Crabb and Goyle are here."

"Right," she agreed.

Fred made a sad face, so she gave him a kiss on the cheek and smiled.

"I'll write to you," she promised.

"A love letter?" he asked as she was walking away.

"A love letter," she turned her head back and answered.

"Does it mean that I win?" he almost screamed. Lyssie shook her head and smiled.

"No way!" she said and left the entry hall.
