Tiffany - I think We're Alone Now

When Lyssie walked back to the dormitories, her roommates weren't sleeping yet. They were sitting on Pansy's bed, paining their nails, and gossiping, probably about boys or teachers. Seeing Daphne awake in the dormitory was definitely an unusual view.

"Tell us all about him!" Pansy said the second she saw Lyssie in the door. "Or her, I guess."

Lyssie sat on her bed and took of the sweater she had on. She took it just in case and she had a point doing that, because it got quite cold outside.

"Come on, tell us who it was!" Daphne urged.

Lyssie debated if telling them would be a good idea or not. They didn't know each other that much, but she already managed to notice the attitude Slytherins had towards Gryffindors. She wasn't sure about their reaction but thought that they would find out one day anyway.

"Fred Weasley," she said.

"A Weasley?" Pansy asked as if she wasn't sure she heard correctly.

"What's wrong with that?" Lyssie frowned.

"You're out of his league," Daphne replied. "You should be going out with someone better."

"Better?" Lyssie asked surprised. In a way, she expected a reaction like this one, but she didn't think they would be so harsh. "Well, first of all, we're not going out, we're just friends, or rather acquaintances." Pansy seemed not to believe a single word Lyssie said. "And second of all, I think it's up to me to choose who is out of my league."

Daphne stood up and walked towards her bed.

"It's your choice," she said as she was looking for her pajamas. "But you know my opinion."

"I sure do," Lyssie said.

When Lyssie woke up the next day, it was already pretty late. She sat down on her bed and looked for her roommates, but they were nowhere to be found. She understood everything when she looked at her watch. It was almost eleven. She has definitely missed breakfast. She heard a rumble in her stomach.

Having dressed up quickly, she decided to go to the common room and wait there for lunch. She knew there was no point going to the Great Hall in search for breakfast food, because it always disappeared the second everyone left the room.

"She went out with whom?!" she heard as she walked through the archway leading to the common room. She knew this voice well.

"With a Weasley, I'm not kidding," answered another voice. "Anyway, you can ask her yourself."

Four pairs of eyes were now looking at Lyssie.

"Ask me what?" she said as if she didn't just overhear a part of the conversation.

She walked up to them and took one of the places on the sofa. It looked as if the group has been sitting there for a while now. Books and parchment paper was everywhere. Nott was reading something with little to no understanding, Zabini was trying to do his Charms homework and Pansy was hanging on Draco's shoulder.

"Speak of the devil," Nott said closing his book. He realized there was no point staring at the letters.

"Parkinson was just telling us about your little date," Blaise informed. "I think we should go get some fresh air."

Nott and Pansy agreed, and they all left the common room.

"See you at lunch, love," Pansy said to Draco.

Malfoy waited for them to leave before he started speaking. They were now sitting opposite to each other.

"Did you really meet a Weasley yesterday?" he asked. His face, like always, didn't show any emotions. Lyssie felt that she was in trouble, even though she knew there was no reason to do so. After all, Malfoy and she have just met, and he had no right to play this parental figure or make any reproaches.
