"The shop is almost ready," Fred said one day when they were studying together in the commons. "We'll be starting right after we finish school."
Lyssie was reading something in one of the coursebooks they were working on. By this time, she understood Herbology way better and started to feel more confident about the upcoming OWLs. On the other hand, she was still very much stressed, even though Fred would always reassure her that she will do amazing on the test.
"I can't believe that you're leaving Hogwarts now," she said and closed the book. "Can you imagine? I only got here and you're already leaving."
He took the book from her and looked through the contents one more time. Lyssie doing good on the test became his ambition. At first, he didn't really treat their lessons seriously, but he soon understood how important it was for her to get a good mark.
"I know. Promise you'll write me letters," he asked. "Every day, preferably. Oh, and love letters. Preferably."
As he said it, he gave her a big smile.
"Why would I write love letters to a friend?" she joked and smirked.
Fred pretended to be offended. He crossed his arms on his chest and frowned. Then, he moved to sit face to face with Lyssie. He got on his knees and leaned over towards her face. She didn't move, so Fred got a little bit closer. And closer again. Then, they both fell on the grass and Lyssie could feel Fred's weight on her body. She laughed and he fixed her hair.
"A friend?!" he asked laughingly.
She nodded, still smirking.
"Would a friend do something like that?" he asked and leaned over to kiss her.
Anytime Fred kissed her, she always felt so warm, and her heart would start beating faster. She put her hands on his chest and tried to jokingly push him away. She didn't try hard, however, as she actually wanted Fred to remain in this position. He grabbed her arms in one of his hands and pulled them above her head. His other hand was still supporting his whole body. He kissed her again.
"Will you finally give up with this stupid bet?" he asked and got off her. He lied on the grass next to her and tilted his head to be able to see her.
"I want to win," she answered, and he laughed hearing that.
"Slytherins," he commented and sighed. "However, I think I already won. You're in love with me, Lysandra Black. You may not admit it, but I know you are."
"Where did you get this idea from?"
"Because I'm deeply in love with you," he answered with a big smile on his face. "And every day, I fall deeper and deeper in love with you. My heart beats faster when I see you. I think about you when you're not around. George has had enough of me talking about you. You may think that I'm a player but this time, I'm telling the truth." He stopped for a second to catch her reaction. She was looking at him smiling. "What is more, I know you feel the same way."
"Do I?" she asked.
"If you don't, forget what I just said."
She laughed and he knew exactly how to understand her answer.

The beginning of the exams came earlier than Lyssie expected. She spent the last couple of weeks preparing for them, and now she hoped she had more time. What scared her the most was that the OWLs were going to take almost two weeks. They were going to have exams from all the subjects they took that year, both theoretical and practical. She knew that practice was her strong side but worried that she wasn't able to remember all the details from the coursebooks.
