chapter 13

   We got back to the house after sunset. Samuel and I watched the sunset together. I raced to the bathroom to take my bath I felt sticky. When I came out, Samuel was already making a video call on his laptop. I entered the walk-in closet and dressed. Since it was evening I wore a pair of jeans shorts and a spaghetti top.

    I sat on the couch waiting for Samuel to finish his call and I fell asleep. I woke up to a hand tracing my lips. It was a tender touch and if I had not been a very light sleeper, I wouldn't have felt anything.

   ”Now you've satisfied your curiosity. They are indeed soft ” He whispered as he removed his hands from my lips.

     I felt warmth spread inside me. He was thinking about my lips. That means he wanted to kiss me. Oh gosh.

    He moved away from me and I counted one to ten then I opened my eyes. He was busy tapping at his tablet's screen.

     I sat up and checked the time. It was twenty minutes past nine . Shit

    ” Is it too late to call your mom?”

     He turned around to face me.

   ” Give me a minute.” he replied.

     He typed something and then replied.

    ” No it's eight in Seattle. So let's make the call. Would you prefer if we used my tablet”

   ” Sure. ” I replied.

       Samuel quickly placed a call on Skype and after the second ring, his mom picked up with Kyle seated on her laps.

    ” Hey Honeymooners.”

     ” Hello mandy.”

    ” Hey mom.” Samuel replied.

    ” How's it going guys. I hope my Sammy is treating you well Kim?”

  ” Yes he is. I was missing Kyle so I decided to call. I wanted to see his face.” I explained happy to see my son.

    " Please Kim you worry too much. Kyle is fine. He's a wonderful child.”

    ” Thank you for taking care of him mandy.” I said.

    ” He's my grandson. If I don't take care of him who will? Don't worry about anything just have fun. By the way, I hope Samuel is treating you well Kim?”

    ” Of course mom.” He said as he gave me a light squeeze on my hand.

    ” Yes he is Mandy.”

    ” Alright sweetheart. Don't forget to have fun. So that we'll have a Kyle junior”

       My cheeks reddened.” Come on don't be absurd. Kyle isn't even up to a year and you're thinking about another child.” Samuel said.

     I guess he doesn't want to have another child with me.

    ” I was just kidding.” Mandy admitted.

     ” Okay. I'll leave you guys now. Have fun.”

    ” Bye mandy.”

     ” Bye mom.

    
      Five minutes passed and Samuel and I just sat there in an awkward silence.

      ” Your mom is a very nice woman.

  ” Yes she is. ” He said.

     Well I tried my best.

    ” I'm going to watch something.”
